I can understand the concerns about losing Manu/Tickle/Moa and possibly Briscoe - lets face it Manu has carried what has been a poor side for the majority of the past five years and god knows where we would have been without the others.

BUT....I hate to use a football example however I recall Man United getting rid of Hughes, Ince and Kanchelskis in the summer of 1995. Yes all integral players but a new team was created there on after. I'm confident FC can do the same and will be even more sure of this when I see the signings we are too announce. McGoldrick is hopefully just a short term solution and a back up utility next year.

To be the best team in SL? Probably another 2 years on that to be in the running.

I think by the 2014 season, all the players should be those that the new regime have picked. So I would assume 2014 is when we should have the team to do the business. I think a lot of fans though are perhaps expecting too much too soon, myself included. With all the hype in interviews from AP and SM though, can you blame us? I will wait to see how we go next year after the squad has been completed and hope we go well. I just get frustrated with as the signings that have been made / announced so far under this new regime are not in line at all with what I was expecting based on what the club are communicating their ambitions are. I know I’m not alone in that fact and I fear many fans will express there disappointment by either not renewing passes or continue to not attend, as they’ve ‘heard it all before’ year after year!

PG is building for the future and long term by signing young English players, some who are England Knight players. So how people can say they are underwhelmed by the signings is daft. We can't have a team full of international/SOO players. The way we seem to be doing things is best imo especially how every team in the near future will have to rely on there academies soon enough. There won't be that much talent coming over from the NRL anymore. Young English talent is the way forward and we are doing our best to sign the best out there which is available.

McGoldrick, Martin, Aspinwall?

I'll wait until the rest of recruitment is confirmed before deciding if the club have delivered what they are suggesting. I think where some people are getting themselves wound up is taking 'focus on young English players' as 'exclusively young English players'. I'm not at all happy about the McGoldrick signing if it is confirmed, but I'm not going to take it is a sign of what all our recruitment will be like at this time.

Apart from G.Ellis so far I am a bit underwhelmed and upset at some of the players we are losing, however hopefully the decent signings will be announced in Sept, in fact I hope so as what we have so far will not get the fans back through the gates, early days yet.

very VERY early days yet to even be discussing it really eh , but thats the FC way i guess

When martin & Aspinall was signed we had as much disbelief on here as we have now, apart from a bit of joking that went to far Aspinall as been a model professional.

They have both done very well for this club and we looked a lot stronger when Martin was on the field than we do now.

The facts are according to smailesy its until the end of the year with a chance if he impresses that he might get another year, now please forgive me if I am wrong but if he impresses that much a lot of you will be eating humble pie again just like after all the Martin and Aspinall threads and the Trolls that were laughing then will disappear just like they did after the start of season.

I am not saying we should be hailing him as the new messier but hells bells he hasn't even signed or played a game for us yet and I for one will give him a chance to either show me he is crap or he is a good signing until the end of the season to fill gaps that we have.

right for a start gentle is playing with agars team and have not won anything in years which is why we got a new coach. the players he has brought in have been mid way through and have been good and promising hes made 2 signings for next year in ellis and arundel ellis is quality and arundel has played at a good level he played superleague and was a stand out performer at cas. we have been rumoured to sign paea holdsworth nrl prop a full back and a half which is better then what we have
if you are going to judge the players we have brought in mid way through then they have got us in a better position then we have been in the last few seasons
