Ellis is a genuine world class player, and signings like him will show a big signal of intent.

Ellis is world class and therefore of course we should throw our hat into the ring.

If his agent does his job properly a long-drawn out bidding war will commence. Just look at how long Willie Mason's agent dragged out his move to the UK!

I'd love us to sign ellis but think that the cost of him would mean even more compromises in the squad than we already have. It will take another 3 years for us to get more balance for the salary cap spend. In all honesty, we have the weakest squad of any team spending at, or near, the cap. There must be some players on much inflated contracts when you look at the quality of players we have compared to other teams

Would be a great signing,has won wests player of the year 3 years running,oozes determination and quality and is a great chance for adam pearson to show his intention to make us a top 2 club.Wont be cheap,but 2 years from one of the worlds best players can only be good.!

Think we have a good chance if gentle wants him . Pearson will want to make a statement and there's always ways round the salary cap . Not all his wages after go on the cap . Think you can count cas out , remember Morley saying he wanted to play for Salford while in aus , but money talks and all players see the pound signs .

I'd love us to sign Ellis but I'm not sure we'll have enough salary cap to do it given our other needs. If Moa & O'Meley are gone we'll need replacements. Our right side desperately needs sorting out. If we do all that on the cheap so we can land Ellis we might end up worse off overall. I hope Adam & co can pull a rabbit out of the hat but I'm not expecting any miracles.

I'd be happy to sacrifice Whiting, Aspinwall, Turner and Burnett for Ellis, we might even need the spare 60k.

I think we have too many weaknesses in our squad that need addressing before we go splashing a load of resource on one star (and knocking on a little) player. He would be a fantastic addition to any team but this can't be at the expense of the squad as a whole IMO

Have to agree if we sign him fantastic, will be a great addition to the squad, but if he goes elsewhere it isn't that big a deal as we have a very good back row already.

If he was a right or Standoff then it would be different.
