Quote: Raggytash "How long you been a fan? Hull ALWAYS used to stand in the South Stand with you lot, electric atmosphere and no casualties. Just like when we always stood next to the Salford fans in the shed.'"
First game was in the mid seventies, I was a bit too young to understand the game to be honest. Followed Leeds all over and hardly missed a game from 1979 through to about 84. I also followed Hull because I enjoyed the atmosphere the fans created, saw them at Wembley versus Rovers, Final replay against Widnes at elland Road and loads of other Hull matches. I started playing sport on a weekend and stopped going to Rugby till about 10 years ago. Although the violence was worse at the Rugby in the 70's and 80's It didn't bother me, I'd been to millwall, west Ham etc with Leeds Utd and RL was sedate by comparison. Since I started going again from 2002 onwards it's been with the missus, that puts a different slant on things. The atmosphere at some leeds v Hull games recently has been unnerving for women and children, bottles thrown at people, fighting on the terraces and general nastiness between supporters. The idiots don't bother me, I've $hit bigger lumps, but there's scrotes from both teams that just want to cause bother and spoil it for everyone. The missile throwing, spectators invading the pitch to manhandle players, and the fighting have all been well documented at recent Hull v leeds games, only an ostrich would say everything's rosey in the garden. So that's the long answer, the short answer is I've been going 37 years on and off.
