Yup, so traffic has decreased already due to the test centre moving

I think that is one of the main reasons why it seems a bit ridiculous. I think Barratts have a "steal" on the land and will just do it haphazardly (re infrastructure)

| Is the site still overgrown with weeds? Looked a right eyesore last time I looked and would be much better with 100's of tiny new houses with no gardens and not enough parking. Would certainly improve the area no end you bunch of nimbys. Can't imagine who would want to live there mind

So what's the problem? The area is already crammed with houses and verges on an industrial area. A few more houses will make no difference whatsoever. It's not as if it's some unspoilt village out in the countryside

I personally haven't got an issue with the proposed development. Would rather see that, than it continue to be the disgrace it currently is.

| Quote: Hull White Star "Nothing to do with Pearson and if anyone is booting off anyone off it was the owner of Hull Brewery who bought the land for the sole purpose of redevelopment who one by one, threw off the rugby, cricket and football teams so he could claim the land was no longer used for sport so it could be developed.
What people don't realise is the sports pitches have only been given usage for 5 years so after that time I fully expect Barratts to chuck off who is on there and put up more houses. '"
Surely if anyone is to blame (assuming its a bad thing) its the directors of Reckitts who sold the land to Hull Brewery?

Wholeheardly agree. The land was gifted by James Reckitt to his employees and held in trust. Reckitts sold the land about 12 years ago without the employees knowledge.
Not quite sure on the ins and outs of the sale but am pretty sure it was sold with the caveat of recreational use still in place and the current owner and Barratts meet the caveat by having a small portion of the land given up for recreation but am certain this is not what was originally intended.
