| Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "Top 4 and reach the semi's of the CC I think should be the minimum aim.
There is a large turnover of players, so I would hope to see a few more friendlies to get them bedded in before the season starts.'"
Agree with that. "Top 8" as suggested by another poster is not nearly good enough.
We should be aiming for the top four in 2012 and the top two in 2013.

| Quote: PAUL M "For me the holes are obvious currently in our squad. We need another prop which should be solved when Lynch signs. We need a class centre which should be solved with a NRL based player.
That just leaves the backrow, it would have to be british but we would need someone.
We would then have cover for every position and with the addition of 2/3 young lads into the squad we would be looking pretty competetive.
With regards to people mentioning the CC, it's hard to say semi final should be a goal, it's largely dependant on the draw. If you draw Wire/Wigan/Saints away then you are up against it.
We should be challenging for the top 4 and making an impression in the playoffs. Along with being more consistent and developing some younger players.'"
Where do you see the halves, Paul? Horne 6, Seymour 7, Ellis as cover, or Seymour 6, Ellis 7, Horne as cover? I'm just hoping Ellis doesn't end up in the reserves - needs gametime to improve and make the step up, but really hoping we don't just pick him for injury cover.

| Quote: R.B.A "Do you seriously believe that?'"
It's lovely to see so much of you on here since Pearson took over, stirring up conspiracy theories about the Allam influence on the purchase and so forth, and now the rather excellent faux indignation about perhaps one of the Briscoe brothers moving on. Indeed, 12 of your last 15 posts have been on here, and one of the other 3 was on the Leeds board to comment about Hull fans starting trouble at the last derby. Can a moderator be a troll? Or are you a bit upset you're about to sign a coach with "concerns about his character" and your marquee signing is looking like Sam Barlow?

Horne, Seymour with Ellis as backup for injuries or lack of form. I ant Ellis to play and he will get chances as the season goes on.

| I don't want to be a dark horse I am looking for a good season and good open rugby,
players backing up, a good sliding defense, the team playing for one an other .
And not giving daft penalties away.Plus I am waiting for the ref's decisions to even themselves out
I keep on hearing that is suppose to happen Don't want a lot. Players showing pride
in wearing the Hull FC shirt .Then I will be happy

wigan won't be as strong without madge.

I can see the curve and it looks to me llike hull will catch the wave of success next.
My prediction is you'll become champions in 2014.'"

same here, we need to bring our development in line with warringtons', like us not all of wires' youngsters will make it, so he will still open his cheque book when needed

| Recent record of new coaches at Hull FC
Kear - Cup win in first season
Sharp - Grand Final appearance in first season
Agar - Cup Final appearance in first season
With this in mind I think it's very reasonable to expect a minimum of a Grand Final win next season!!!

it's flawed though
each came in and their first season was a success, then we failed miserably in subsequent years to the point where the fiathful had enough, I'll take the reverse of that, a solid top 4 finish and a good cup run next season, with a view to winning the GF and WCC in Gentle's third season (of a long coaching career at the biggest club in Super League)
(I can dream with the best of them!)

| Too early to say if we can be 'dark horses' next season. We are still signing players and I would not be surprised if we want rid of others but as they still have contracts it is not the simplest thing to do. Next season I will be happy if we can go into games against the big 4/5 with a real hope of beating them rather than grabbing the odd lucky win.
My expectations are not too high as Gentle has a lot of things to sort out, 3.5 seasons of Agars mismanagement needs putting right and it wont be an overnight fix.
