Well, it's not recent and I know it's got a sequel (which I haven't seen yet) but The Hangover is the funniest film I've seen in years,, probably only bettered by Life Of Brian and Blazing Saddles.

I liked it. Typical cheesy sports choreography but some good performances from the cast, particularly Amy Adams' bum.
Sat watching Ipcress File at the minute, been using Lovefilm to see older stuff that's supposed to be good and I've never gotten round to before. One thing that's really noticeable is that films used to have much more in the way of scene setting and establishing characters, which would be seen as a film going nowhere nowadays. Modern films don't seem to want to include anything that doesn't move the plot along unless it's a big action set piece.

Holes in the plot in a film about an astronaut who lands on a planet in a parallel universe where apes are the dominant species and humans subservient? Surely not

| I always preferred Holy Grail to Life of Brian. The Tim the Sorcerer sequence is brilliant, but the Black Knight is probably the single funniest scene in film. And is there a better insult than 'I fart in your general direction'?

| Quote: Martha Manu "I watched The Experiment..sky.
It was about a social behavioural experiment, they put a load of blokes in a prison some guards some prisoners, got very messy and showed how an individual can change their values ect, not the best film I have seen but interesting all the same.It reminded me of the Stanley Milgram experiments about conformance and kind of supported it..not sure if the film was true but it would not be allowed to happen now due to the ethics involved.'"
I sat up and watched that, quite weird and I didn't get where it was going.
I do watch some right rubbish when I'm between working nights and days, sometimes watch 3 or 4 films back to back from the planner or anytime, People talk about them and I think "oooh I've seen that" but I get the films all mixed up and confuse my friends, they sit there thinking they've missed pinnacle parts of films.
There is a film on at the moment, I watched it last year, "The Happening", It's absolutely ridiculous but intensely chilling, look out for it.

Pedantry alert: It's not a parallel universe.
