If their has to be a compromise, then the Catalans, Quins and Crusaders games could be played on Sunday as their travelling support has the furthest to come.'"
The only drawback there being if each of those clubs brought their fans combined they still would not fill a quarter of the North Stand.

| Quote: ComeOnYouUll "How many people do you think will be up for getting to West Park at mid morning on a Sunday?
Summer era crowds on Sundays have generally speaking been below that of Friday games. People have far more things to do on a Sunday than, say, twenty years ago.
Personally I'd go anyway regardless of the day but I maintain that Fridays are more popular. The posts on here back that up as does the fact that Wigan and Leeds choose to play on Fridays and I imagine Saints will also do so next season.
I sympathise with people like yourself and Kosh who live away and cannot get to the KC on Fridays but I guess you cannot please everyone all the time.'"
Firstly I don't need your sympathy.
Next. Its insular thinking which holds businesses back. West Park has massive potential for attracting new fans and old. Look what happened at the derby match this year. So yes with imagination you can attract people to a park. We have corporate sponsors who can assist, a very supportive city council and a thriving amateur league who may help as well. Broaden your mind. BBQs and hog roasts etc and outside bars and before you know it you attract many people. All in nice environment which might actual assist the local community as well. You certainly can't do that on Friday nights. Give people a "match day experience" to remember aside from a crappy pre match cover versions only singer, a bouncy castle for two people and a short video on a small screen. We have been asked about the "experience" in questioners so the club are interested in developing it but they certainly fail to deliver it. It might just mask a losing team if the whole experience was worth while and family orientated.
I am also sure that Sky (I speak generally like you) would rather have all RL fans watching games live as it adds to sponsorship. If we all played Friday nights viewing figures (live) will suffer.
I would also add that Salford have always played Friday night just by way of a counter balance to you with Leeds (central to most clubs and easier to get to on Friday night) and Wigan.
Finally what additional things do people have to do on a Sunday that they didn't 20 yrs ago. I am certainly struggling with that one. Certainly nothing that relegates rugby (leisure activity) to Friday nights for a couple of hours.
I know I am a minority voice on here but I suspect that its easier to have an attitude of "I can't be arrised to go" when the club is in a rut like now, when you have to rush to get to a game on a Friday night after a days work. Hence the REDUCTION in crowds this season. Please don't quote 2005 and the crowds then as that was the start of us believing we might actually develop our potential, thus crowds improved. The struggle will be convincing folk to come back now and I strongly feel that a complete match day experience package might make it easier.

the reduction in crowds isn't anything to do with the day the game is played, it's hte product on the pitch and the cost of attendance.
You say have games on a Sunday, corporates don't like that, it's better for them to have ameeting late Friday afternoon and then go on to the KC for a meal and an evening of Rugby.
You make reference to a hog roast, outside bars etc, but you don't factor in the cost of doing such things, you may put 1 or 2 thousand on the gate, but at what cost.
IF the product on the field gets sorted out then the attendance will recover, I've chosen a number of times not to leave work early and get myself to Hull (from Birmingham), simply because I know I wont be entertained, if I felt it was worth my while then I would start work (or finish) and hour earlier from Monday to Thursday and be perfectly able to leave work at 3pm to get to Hull for 6:30pm, as it is, I'd rather work until 4pm on Friday and have Monday off work, giving me a 3 day weekend every other week.

Indeed, I think that is probably the right answer, but let's be honest, if we were 6 points clear at the top of SL and ripping teams a new bum hole every week then it wouldn't matter if we played at 8am on a Tuesday morning.

Hog Roast etc. Cost = Sod all. You get a company to provide it at a cost to them. They make the gains from sales. Failing that a small investment in equipment will get rewards over the long term. I bet the cost would be less than that of a pub singer on the pitch.
As far as product on the field I am with you. I can. Re schedule my working week, but refuse while we are poor. Equally the argument for saying crowds are bigger on Fridays is negated with that theory.
As for corporates well........... We seem to throw this argument out there but other sports don't have that argument and I am not just talking Premiership football. Cricket, RU for example. For me that's a dead excuse. Or is it just a Hull/ RL thing?

Thats the case for Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.
THe Quins game for the last few seasons has been used to havea shed load of school kids in on a freebie. No reason why this couldn't be done for eh Les Cats and Crusaders games as well. Afternoons would suit this for the kids?

| Club should let the fans decide, a vote, the only fair way, it was moved (despite what rool spouted) without consultation to the fans, i know a lot of people who no longer can go since the switch, but agrre with Standee product on the pitch that matters, what ever time games where played we should be packing em in.
