| This is how it is , once and for all !
When you work for an employer you will , generally be assigned a 'boss' for want of a better word. This boss will ensure you comply with your duties that match your remuneration. Your boss can be strict or slack , a good mate or a confidante . The boss can be a iron fist in a velvet glove or a complete that you have no respect for. Your boss may let you get away with anything and then some are like hawks and watch your every move. Some motivate the hell out of you because they take a great interest in you and your career. All in all the best bosses command respect and even adoration. Employees don't usually leave companies , they tend to leave managers. Managers also tend , over time , to get better pay the better job they do.
As a manager myself , in both sport and business , I realise that to have respect and have people 'play' for you I have to be the best I can. Rich Agar may be the best he can be but that best may not be good enough.
You know when you have a nice boss that is a lovely guy with great morals but just can't get you to do what he/she wants. They dont have the ability to create desire or passion but rather just an ability to get you to do the minimum amount of work where you know that you don't get sacked for that basic performance.
My feeling is Rich cannot get his team to 'die' for him ala Mourhinho. His team also play in a way that suggests they are not afraid of the consequences. Usually there will be a group of employees that mix together and form a 'clique' where between them they understand they don't perform well all the time but feel comfy with each other knowing they are all guilty of this every now and then. This type of group can be mature and influential and have a core within the group as well . They influence new starters and don't like staff who try their best 100% as it makes them feel uncomfortable as it means their own mediocre performance can be put under scrutiny.
My hunch , which is really almost my opinion , is that Mr Agar is a soft but nice boss who cannot get any staff to bust a gut for him , never mind go into battle. That is where the problem lies .
He needs to go and the staff need a leader , but a leader that strikes fear and motivation and inspiration and accountability for poor performance. If poor peformance isn't stamped on then it breeds.
Nice guy but no head coach of a Grade A world class club

| Many good point son here and frankly reading what Radford has to say just makes this whole process a farce. To say something like "we will have to put in a good performance on Sunday" is taking all of us for mugs!
Fook that Radders you and the rest need to put in good performances from now until the last game of the season. Playing well on Sunday won't wipe out the shocking start to the season!
Frankly you, your colleagues, the coaches and the board are taking the out of the 18th man and taking us all for a ride!!!!

Totally agree with you - given that Agar has been a good servant to the club though I still feel like he has something to offer a new head coach as a number 2....perhaps not from a motivational point of view but from knowing the strengths/weaknessess of the playing staff.
