10603.jpg Is it true that Richard Agar's favorite movie of all time is Groundhog Day or does he just generally like the same boring s**t day after day, season after season?:10603.jpg |

| If, and that'a a big IF, the KC stadium was to be sold to the private sector, then it should be to an individual or party impartial to both Hull City AFC and Hull FC.
However, this is Hull City Council we are talking about and they and a certain Adam Pearson did a good job stiching us up when forming the SMC, so anything is possible.

| Wouldnt want this to happen atall, I think we would soon be stitched up.
I personally think city fans are deluded when it comes to the Allams, all this 'present to the city' stuff theyve fed through the media. The Allams are business people and I am certain they didnt get where they are from being the nice guys the HDM purveys them to be.
Football is a cut throat business, and it is well known there is no money in owning football clubs. So why have the Allams even bothered?

| Quote: Eric The Viking "I agree there's no way that Hull FC can be kicked out of the KC. However I think some people are being a bit naïve that the stadium won’t be sold. From what I hear, on extremely good authority, is that one of the major reasons the Allams bought out Hull City was on the premise that they would be able to buy the stadium.
I don’t think they would have committed all the money they already have without thoroughly investigating the chances of this happening with the council and powers that be etc.
They will buy the stadium and then look at expanding as soon as possible. Hull FC will still have a home, but it will look sp when just over a quarter filled on most weekends.'"
If only HCC were an extremely good authority.
I'm not concerned about a prospective sale for the reasons outlined by Standee earlier. I have however had a good laugh reading the comments on the Hull Daily Mail website.

Eh! I dont like or watch rugby or football but i'd like to buy the stadium. Come on they are paying £40 mill for the club so want the ground as well. even I would see that as a logical move.

No they didn't. We were offered a role in running the stadium and declined.

Didn't Shane Richardson and Adam Pearson both agree that the SMC should have been independant of both clubs, only for Pearson to jump at the chance of running the SMC a few months later when Richardson had gone back to Oz?
I may be wrong about the events that lead to us not being represented on the SMC, either way, we were initially stiched up when the SMC was set up imo.

Granted
It appears to me that you know people who SAY they are connected to FC, they obviously know very little about the covenants on the KC Stadium, the agreements that were made to release the land (which was donated by the Council), the KC Stadium is highly unlikely to be sold, I'm not saying never, but certainly not over 24 hours courtesy of some poor journalism and even poorer trolling.

The only way to keep it long term is to get some proper revenue from it, perhaps the council should employ a team direct to manage it and then the rent you pay, plus City and all the other income from concerts etc could be put back into the councils coffers.
If the 47k is a true return, its less than a 3 bedder on Kingswood would have brought in over the same period.'"
Any figures on the ratepayers' return on investment from everything that KUHCC have thrown at your lot over the years?

| Quote: Standee "I doubt very much that the Stadium could be sold, funding was secured from other sources (including Sport England) on the premise that it was a community facility. It makes no sense for the Council to sell it's only asset, and if it is, genuinely, "costing them money" it's their incompetence and nobody else's.
FWIW I do not want to see it sold, in fact I'd like to see the rules about the SMC tightened up so that it is not part and parcel of any one club, that way not only is justice being done (as I believe it already is) but importantly, it is SEEN to be being done.'" Spot on ..If I remember there was Funding money also from the EEC to be part of sporting for the Hull area. they could also put a block on it being sold off

OK, here are the facts as I understand them.
Pearson and Richardson agreed that neither club should manage the stadium, a separate management organisation should be formed, Pearson agreed and went into the relevant liscencing, insurances etc. and asked Richardson (or Hull FC) for about £100k to join the venture, Richardson delined (it's perceived that Richardson's move back to Aus was in the offing at this stage).
Hull FC have had many opportunities to get involved with the SMC, and declined each and every one of them. No stitch up at any point, other than our own board denying themselves an element of control.

The council bought back the freehold interest in Craven Park when Rovers were in administration to allow them to continue trading, and a 250 year peppercorn lease arrangement with KCD (formerly Gaingroup) is now in place. So I'd guess feckall is your answer.

Whilst i hate myself for it...lol I agree basically with what your saying !
What i cant understand is ...
1. Why couldnt we do as in the case with huddersfield
both f.c and city own %age remainder hcc owned.
2. If its not making the revenue that hcc thought it would be, why cant the hcc run it themselves? they could claw back a far better return, plus open it up for a lot more events and activities, think on how much lost revenue Duffen cost the stadium,?

They don't SAY they are connected, they ARE connected both in the playing and board side of matters.

Right, so we now have property and local authority covenant law experts playing for FC, and on the board.
Haven't you got a bridge to run?

Hey I never said anybody I knew was an expert on anything. They do however have close contact with people who DO know what's happening and ARE experts.
You honestly don't believe that people like JR haven't got a good idea of what's going on and what could happen? They have their own legal teams too you know.
Information like this soon finds it's way through the organisation, just like at any other big company eg Smith and Nephew. Their staff have known what was revealed in today's paper months ago. What makes Hull's staff any different?
