If Berrigans immigration status has changed his tax status why is that Rule's fault ? Especially as we all heard Berrigan did the work himself.

I thought the quota rules were RFL rules not the government`s for tax purposes?
Players get themselves off the quota all the time. In the eyes of the HMRC Berrigan is Australian is he not?
Why would he get off the quota to stitch himself up for paying tax and NI?
Maybe Hull have not taken up his 4th year option to get someone else in?
Who knows? But it is looking highly likely that he is off.

There are obviously many slightly different versions of the rumour circulating, which is understandable, but I doubt Berrigan coming off quote would affect his position as an Australian national for the purposes of tax.

I could be wrong, but I think it would depend on what exactly he did when he got his EU passport/nationality. If he's now classed as UK resident rather than being here on a working visa then he would become liable for UK tax and NI. Or maybe it's nothing to do with his visa status and it's tied in to the image rights issue. Not being privy to any of the rumours it's difficult to speculate.

Totally disagree...a very good move imo... Berro's overall performance in general does not reflect the huge salary he receive, especially when you compare him to the likes of Sir Fitz & Orge, and look at Moa who I suspect will be on a lot less then Berro!

I sincerely hope he can find his form with another club because he certainly has not done it consistently for us. Shut the door on your way out bud

a couple of lads at work are mates with D.Houghton and Matt Dale, they've told them that someones signed but the lads at work have said they'd keep it to themselves....just thought I'd ask on here if anybody has heard anything.
