I've heard that Cooke has signed for Hull. Probably worthy of the rumour thread.

I wouldn't have even given the useless the satisfaction of making a statement about it and any Hull fan who got in touch with the club about it needs to get a life

but, as Rule has stated on many occasions in the past, Cooke will never be a Hull player again during his reign. Why should he have to waste time repeating himself?

A last plea, maybe, to the hordes of dimwits who have made speculation about Crooke joining Hull a personal crusade ? Maybe he just feels genuinely sorry for people wasting their lives even thinking it could happen. He probably wonders how people can be so thick and stupid that despite him saying on numerous official occasions that the Crooke will never join Hull in his tenure people still believe he could.

I think it's his last humanitarian attempt to free up these numbskulls from their life obsession so that they can use the subsequent flood of free time at their disposal to find, grasp hold of, and cling on to a life.

I think in the end it was the amount of fools that had said they were not getting season passes because he was 'nailed on to sign', that probably prompted what was quite an unprecedented announcement. Whatever they say it only takes two pages on here to have the story completely reversed. The thing is some folks just don't want to hear things sometimes so they make it up!

Staffs is spot on. The club have continued to say that Cooke would not be returning but some people cannot get it into their heads.

A few posts from anonymous posters on RLFans, 606 or HDM and plenty fall for it.

I think the chance of losing pass sales will have contributed to that press statement and also the deep loathing of the guy amongst the FC royalty probably had a lot to do with it also...

Have they ever released a written statement on it before? He'd have been within his rights to just change the date.

I guess the Bailey rumour came to nothing too. Is it just a case of think of the worst possible scenario and that anything better is a bonus?

I've got a lot of respect for Rule over the way he has handled this. However its a shame he felt forced to make the statement purely in order to placate the gullible and weak-willed who will believe anything they read on the internet.

Now that we know this former player is never coming back, perhaps we can stop talking about him?
