| I can't recall a team who have brought in a 6 or 7 recently and they have been firing on all cylinders from the off.
I'm sure there are a few but most teams bring them through over many years or start off with a promising project. Would bringing one in for a year do us any good? Top 7's now have been at it for a while with their clubs.. Leuluai, Burrow, Dobson and some are projects still on a learning curve, Myler, Eastmond, Tompkins.
The 3rd alternative is the Orford route paying the money for the finished article, but having to get through the settling in period which may or may not pay off.... this option, in my opinion, is the worst of the three and the one we seem to be following now.
The key is knowing when you need to start the "grooming" (for want of a better word!) process while currently in the "settled half backs" stage.

A Quota spot should be a Marquee signing, not a sign and hope for the best.
For me we don't use it and plan for a solid 2012 signing Or possibly use the money to pick up an up and coming British player. Just like Warrington & Salford have ( I cannot believe I'm jealous of Salford).

Would rather we get a young British half, pay some money for one if need be,treat them well with decent wages and you have a cornerstone of your team for years like most of our top clubs have over here.
You go looking in Aus and bring someone over who does well and 1 or 2 years down the line your back to square one when half of the NRL comes calling and your player disappears.

not many about!!! possibly briggs,or moore, that's about it! out of the 2 briggs would possibly be the one as moore has had a couple of chances(i think??)already at sl level.

And both cost a lot less than some journeyman aussie.
Isn't this exactly the reason the quota was brought in?

Not so sure about that. Was at Leeds, but that's all IIRC. With McGuire and Burrow in front of him in the pecking order he was always on to a tough one there, TBF.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

Like Sam Moa you mean?
If the right half was to be available at home or in Aus, with Longy and Webster around to help them develop then go for it, if not save the cap space and quota spot for during the season for if anything comes up.

Think so. And the same side with Luke Gale and Ben Jones-Bishop as well.

He's turned out okay. A project that has worked out okay for Agar. Agree with your comments.
