| Quote: The Dentist Wilf "Spot on! some clubs, Like the Wire, Quins Huddersfiled and possibly Rovers are totally dependant on Sugar Daddies, because their actual businesses don't stack up! its great when you have them it when they leave or their company's go bust that you have a problem.
But as far as success is concerned you have to admire Warrington because Moran has actually bought players out of their contracts to get the right playrs in, no one is safe at a club when he comes calling! that shows great enterprise and they deserve their success IMHO.'" despite me being in norway and this is costing me a bomb on my phone. You.re wrong over moran. If could leave tomorrow and warrington would be fine. We wouldn't be able any big transfer fees but we're self sufficient. That being the main thing before moran became majority share holder

| Warrington want success, Hull are happy to exist, this was proved by giving Agar a two year deal when we did, Carvell joined the bigger club without a doubt.

Hello Kitchie, Serious question deserving a considered answer.
Had it not been for Barrie Lilley and Colin Hutton, would the merger have ever taken place?

| Quote: The Dentist Wilf "Come back when you have some of your facts right despite being really successful it will be while before Warrington have bigger gates than us or as manys season ticket holders or even as successful a merchadising operation which is on target to turn over £1m this season, and regularly making a profit those are the sort of things that define big clubs. Success is a completely different thing! What a poor response, cannot even get your facts right when we can actulaly decypher what you are trying to say.
As for the merger we were lucky the timing of our demise was just right but no one at Caravan Park would surely not have not taken the opportunity if it were offered to them, that smacks a bit of envy to me. As for the Stadium well Rovers are probabaly a run of the mill club as you put it because they have not taken their opportunities and when offered a place at the KC the Cities community Stadium they refused to join the party. Who knows if they had accepted with both clubs playing there the synergies would have dictataed that the Rovers could have been getting at least 12,000 gates on a regular basis.
We have just taken our business opportunities it does not mean we are a successful club in fact far from it but as far as consolidating and growing our business and the 'size' of our club it was a great move.'"
So going by your rules that would mean newcastle are a bigger club than say chelsea more fans/season ticket holders shirt sales . for me it really goes by what differant fans think the criterea is. big gates ,merchendise ,making money or competing on all fronts ,signing top players/manager winning things .we'll have to agree to differ but i know what i'd rather sing on the terraces
"we've gone and won the cup "
"champions champions" or
"we've got more fans than you"
"we sell more shirts than you"

| Well thats your opinion isn't it? Its certainly not down to what you chant though North Ferriby fans would be chanting we've won the Cup if they had, it still would not make a big club though, but it would make them successful. Yeh I think that Newcastle probably are a big club simply because of their standing in the whole City, their gates when times are bad, the season tickets they sell even after they are relegated etc etc. However Chelsea are both a big club and a successful one!

Indeed. But for those gentleman and others who took a similar view, Hull FC would have been playing in the bottom division the following season. Who knows how long it would have taken us to get out of there or get into Super League.
I wonder if they ever regretted voting as they did?

Who are ya?
On topic, can we begrudge Carvell his success with Wire?
When he went I admit I thought he had took a gamble. It`s paid off for him. I just wish he hadn`t buggered us about.

If he just left then he would have gone with my best wishes, however he messed us around big time and cost us some potential signings.
