Sending Off Sufficient.'"

So thats what ABBA were singing about all those years ago then icon_lol.gif

As for the tackle thought it looked worse than it actually was to be honest as think the speed and momentum combined with the point of impact were the factors not any knd of deliberate attempt up end him in that way.

Problem with the sending off is that so many tackles much worse than that tonight go unpunished or just bottled by ref and put on report which makes the tonights decision even worse. Should really be SOS, no more.

The RFL should really be looking at the laying on issue though as it is getting worse and attacking players clamping the tacklers arm to get a penalty.

Quote: Robbo4 "Awful decision, Childs will be embaressed when he sees that again. He literally just fliiped up due to momentum and Tansey was barely touching him by the time he hit the floor, he certainly didn't drive him into the ground. Nice to see the Crusaders player acting like he was dead and then suddenly getting to his feet when the red card was produced.'"

Agreed. I actually don't even think it was a penalty, I would have to see it again. The crusadars player was running full tilt and Tansey hit him. That was all. The red card was a joke.

While my cheering of Tansey making the tackle and saving a try quickly changed to 'Ooh, f---, he landed on his head', I didn't think it was in any was done on purpose, or had any malice behind it. The momentum of Tansey running in, and Schiftcofcse running at pace caused him to tip over in that way, in my eyes.
I can see why Child would consider sending him off, however, I would've expected him to confer with his touchjudges before making such a big call.
Personally, with the little time that there was remaining, I would have gone for yellow card, myself, I think.

I can see Tansey having a hearing at Red Hall, however, the fact that it was clearly accidental should go in his favour. I reckon that, if anything, it'll be either a 1-match-ban for dangerous play, or just that the red card was sufficient punishment.

[I sit 7 rows back, almost inline with the 20, so I had a decent view for this]

As I was about 60 yards from the incident I can't really comment on the tackle.

If nothing else Childs deserves some credit for at least making the decision. Yes I know he may (or may not) have been wrong but how often do we complain when refs 'put in on report' when they've had a perfectly good view of the incident and just bottle it.

At best I would expect a one match ban based on Tansey's previous good record which would mean he would be available for the crunch match against Leeds.

How does the momentum of a man running full tilt forwards cause him to flip backwards onto his own head?

I would say sending off sufficient probably would be a daft decision as that means they are saying what he did was foul play but the sending off didn' alter anything as Hull still won so how is this really a punishment? He was off less than 5 minutes.

He didn't flip backwards he flipped forwards. SOS wont be a daft decision as the decision to send him off was daft enough in the first place.

Can a red card not be rescinded if it is proved by the club that the referee was incorrect in his decision?

It was a reckless tackle that is illegal because it can easily result in serious injury, because of this I think he will get a ban. You don't see many of that kind of foul that's as dramatic is that.

I'm absolutely certain they wouldn't rescind this as an offence was clearly commited, intentionally or not.

Having read your recollection of events on the virtual terrace you'll forgive me if I pay little attention to what you think happened in this instance.

This time I am almost certain I was looking in the right place! icon_biggrin.gif

The player hit the floor vertically head first, I would expect a match ban

If out hopfully we will give Jack Briscoe a chance rather than use Hall who isn't very good at FB and is leaving.

EL CAMO - did you get a good view from the North Stand? Perhaps is was a similar view as the writer for your website rlsent off Hull’s Jordan Tansey in the 75th-minute for a late tackle on Clinton Schifcofskerl

That's soccer, with rugby league you just have to take it on the chin or worse still upside down on your head!

watching widnes and sheffield on thursday night their was a proper 2 on 1 spear tackle. lifted flipped and dumped on the ground head first . no cards were issued , consistency is non existent in rugby league . last nights display by baby face was totally inept but apart from bentham for the derby so have most matches . we will never extend our game beyond m62 all the while our officials are as blatantly biased and inconsistent as they are a laughing stock . they cannot get consistency in the same game let alone across the board . something needs to be done but then again red hall are no better and totally biased and inconsistent so what hope do we have
