Very proud of the boys today. We competed with Wire all the way and had we had our pivots playing we would have won the game as that was the only thing we lacked. Some of the forwards were outstanding, Ogre, Radford and Manu who must be one of the strongest players in SL.

Thought Hall did really well too, some good one on one tackles when up against Matt King. Burnett showed his form of last season, took the ball up really well and Yeaman versus King was a great battle.

Having 7 players out including both halfbacks meant I never expected much today but we more than competed and had we had our pivots playing, our even one of them I think we could have won.

It would have also helped had Ganson not been such a complete tw*t, but nevermind.

with players we had missing,then to lose longy,i thought we did very well,maybe turner could have moved to 6 when longy went off.we needed a bit of creativity,or little chips over the defence which wire was doing,causing us problems.we need to realise wire had myler,briers,bridge,monoghan,higham,to call upon for creativity,we had long who we lost after 20 mins.we must have been down to the bare bones for a team to have lyne on the bench and kent 18,man.just hope longy is ok and for me washbrookes days are numberd he offers nothing,just a squad player,

Or... We could have put Reece on the wing, Whiting to FB and Tansey to 7.

One thing that impressed me today was the fact they never gave up even when the game was dead and buried. Even at the end Manu & Co were still looking to make good hard yards. Something that has been severley lacking in recent years.
It's never good to lose but i thought there were plenty of plusses for us.

If kent had been on the bench it would have been more likely for him to have a short spell than Lynne.
Lynne was a waste sat there, whereas Kent could have had a 10 minute spell just to give one of the forewards a rest.

All players gave 100%,thats all we can ask.

just got back now. You lot didn't play that bad atall you just came up against a very good defensive side (i can finally say that this season) you will be there or thereabouts come the end of the year.

how many did we take certainly looked like a few from in the stand and could you tell the atmosphere in the stand it was great ?

No, it wouldn't. Agar obviously doesn't think he's ready or he would have played. If he'd have been on the bench, he was no more likely to have taken the field than Lynne.



One ten minute spell from a player who isn't ready could have done much more harm than good.
