Standee IIRC said Whiting was average at best at the beginning of the season however he has since had the decency to admit he has played well and seems to be proving him wrong.

You made it an issue by stating that your comments were 'not far off the mark'. Had you said that your comments were 'far off the mark' there wouldn't be an issue. You also tried to claim that your comments related to him leaving last year, which they quite obviously did not. |

Mine has been proven to be correct, however. Throughout the time you have been falling over yourself to say how average Whiting is/was, I maintained that he was a quality player - based on his previous performances in a range of positions. |

People always have different views of players, thats why when a team releases a player they are usually snapped up by somebody else. Is Brown a poor coach for signing G Horne?
I have always been impressed with Whiting but i could also see why others were not. It is a matter of opinion at the end of the day. It would be very boring indeed if everyones opinion was the same.

Which is why it's important to be measured in your opinions. If you make strong statements on a subject that are subsequently shown to be incorrect, people are much more inclined to remind you about them at a later date. |
