Seriously, though, I think Widnes deserve a crack if their financial problems are sorted. I can see Toulouse getting a francise although I think there are enough SL teams with negligable away support.

clearly extra points will be awarded for teams that play in quartered shirts, and have a jester logo  or am I just a cynic.
as for the changes. I personally would switch Salford for Widnes...as I don't feel Salford offer anything at the moment, without the new ground (and upturn in crowds) they are just struggling along at the foot of the table (watch them beat us tonight now I've written that!!)
Widnes offer better crowds (easily would be around the 6/7k mark) and a good ground. They would also offer some local rivalry to Crusaders.
I think Toulouse are a good long term prospect, but I'd leave them in the championship for another 3 years, until SL is ready to expand to 15/16 teams (probably won't happen until the economy has recovered) |
