It is but he is a young lad and I'm sure he will have big ambitions. I like the look of him, only slight but has pace to burn.

Never criticise a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes.........that way you'll be a mile away and have his shoes.:Games/PDT_361.gif

Calderwood : 1 year deal with a year option dependant on injuries
Yeaman : For me No unless he plays out of his skin for the remainder of the year
Dowes : 2 year deal for me
Radford : Get rid best rugby been and gone IMO.
Tickle : Definitely providing he wants to stay. If so 2 year deal for me
Fitzgibbon : Providing no serious injuries etc 1 year deal
Manu : 2 year deal
Cusack : Retiring but still would not offer new deal with quota and age being factors
Houghton : need to keep our homegrown talent. Still potential to fulfill but 2 year deal
Whiting ; ultimate clubman and never lets us down. 3 year deal
Hall : great potential and homegrown. needs to continue to show improvement as shown on return last year. 2 year deal

Would let yeaman go on the basis we would have hall, briscoe and turner vying for starting centre spots with whiting also available to cover there. whiting to get regular gametime in the pack for me if either or both fitz and tickle are not signed on.

with briscoe in the centres (in this hypothetical situation) would look at either another established non quota winger or simply promote from within with lyne, tuffour and j.briscoe all hopefully able to have a few games each next year.

definitely need a new prop with radford and susack going so would need a non quota prop (LMS for me) and look to promote from within if possible or look at other clubs young props. if this isn't possible then i would look at lauaki and possibly fitz to do a stint or 2 in the front row

now take it to pieces if you wish icon_smile.gif

Depending on how Calderwood goes after his injury, I think we did one winger. Lyne will be on one wing next season I am sure about that. Tuffour as back up. I would look to sign Richard Owen from Cas who can play wing or FB, Colborn who is a good player better than people give him credit for, Goulding our Ainscough from Wigan could also be options.

A young prop to replace Radford, LMS, Scruton, Watts or Burgess would be my choice.

Moa to reaplace Cuscack, Hame as back up prop.

We have 2 very good halfbacks in the reserves (watch the hightlights on under 20's to see how good these are) and maybe working with Long (which I have heard they are) should really help them.

We really should be on the look out for any top player that becomes available.

Williams and nicklas?

How's smith getting on at hooker?

Regarding wingers. If lyne is first choice next season and either calderwood stays or we replace him is tuffour good enough to be back up?
Now I know he's not u20's so isn't guarrented a game their would the dual regisration be perfect for him?

Yes Williams and Nicklas, Pat Smith is a halfback playing hooker, not sure he is good enough for SL. I liked the look of Danny Bloom last year and Jack Illey sometimes plays off the bench, but sure how they are getting on this year.

Not sure about tuffour I think you are right about dual registration, needs to be getting experinece at a higher level. We also have Jack Briscoe who coudl fill in on the wing.

If Hall doesnt stay, use his money to sign another winger maybe, so that would leave us with Lyne, Calderwood (or another winger) and new another ne signing.

I suppose due to the lack of non quota quality wingers we might have to offer Calderwood a new contract, as tying to sign 2 good Britsih wingers might be hard.

or promote from within and save a bag load of cash !!!, if Reece and co are as good as they say then it would make sense to spend the cash on class centres to play inside of them to help them and protect them a little , however maybe they will surprise us as did Briscoe and fit in just nicely!!

Seen Lynn now and again but not sure it would be a good move to a have a 18 year old ( then ) as our first choice winger

I dont and I would hope for the future of the player that the club doesn't. As it stands at the moment he is doing the job, I wonder what he actually thinks about?

Whats your thoughts on him becoming a permanent fixture on the wing?

I agree, but like Hall if he doesn't start playing there soon he will struggle to become a top class centre. I don't buy into the theory that they can start on the wing for experience and then move into the centre. Centre is possible the most difficult position on the field to defend from and unless you're playing there on a regular basis its even harder.

Weak, safety first coaching could end up ruining this huge potential.

I agree, but he will definitely be a centre next year. Just hope he doesn't have positional difficulties being on the other side of the pitch.
