| Quote: Mrs Barista "Sorry, but I'm entitled to an opinion and mine is that our attitude and energy was poor in a game where we should have been fired up as top spot was at stake. Our forwards failed to get on top. Our discipline was atrocious. We lost the ball in poor positions and failed to make touch with penalties twice. Our backs were shown up defensively out wide. I appreciate that Wigan are the form team, but come on, we had only one injury and only got 18 of our 24 points when Wigan had put the cue on the rack. To have nearly 50 put past us isn't really something we should be merely shoulder-shrugging about. IMO.
Sums it up perfectly for me Mrs B. Especially about our backs being shown up, you could see them being sucked in time and again instead of staying in position. If we had kept man for man we may have fared better last night. Long was never fully fit for the game or at least he did not look it to me and the majority of our supporters.
Lets see how we turnaround for Bradford this week though, it is always a good sign of a teams charachter.

| It was your discipline that was killing you. Your forwards are very big - IMO the second best pack in Super League behind Warrington - but they are very slow. Our quick PTB was costing your lads big time. Lee Radford though is a penalty machine.
I thought the turning point in the match was when you bombed a chance to level the game up. You made a break mid-way through the first half and through the ball over the line. Had (whoever it was) taken that it could have been a different game. Without trying to sound too big headed against teams like us you have to take them opportunities.
Hull FC showed some promise at the end with a couple of tries to take some gloss of the Wigan performance and make the scoreline look a little better, but don't be fooled, Hull FC were well beaten last night.
On a more positive note I thought Richard Horne had a brilliant game. Sean long was a marked man and given no room at all and perhaps we neglected Horne and he made us pay a few times. I have never really rated him until now. Fitzgibbon is a real workhorse. Not a long term investment, but he is doing a great job for you.
Kudos to the travelling supporters btw. Fantastic effort on a Friday night (2130 was the figure). Great stuff and as in terms of bragging rights you brought more than Hull KR.

half the team dont look bothered.
its still got to be the thickest set of players ever assembled.
whenever the opposiiton put more than 2 passes together they score.
and lee radford spends half the time doubled over knackered, the other half hes having a rest on top of a tackled player and getting penalised.
one more whinge... is mark o'meley affraid of tackling?'"
you are obviously still as blikered as last season then,.

I cannot for the life of me not wonder why you bother at all with F.C.
you do nothing but moan about them.Hell Rovers fans have a more positive attitude to Hull than you.Why not chuck it in and give us all a bit of peace?

| Sorry to resurrect this thread but I've just watched the highlights on HullFC.tv and thought I'd add my thoughts.
Our defence seemed all at sea and quite disorganised, they cut us to pieces on the flanks.
On the attack however our tries were pretty well worked and shows we can score points when we have the play. Horne seemed outstanding.
The impression the highlights give is that everything Wigan tried just stuck, like Goulding juggling the ball about 5 times or the ball bouncing back straight to Roberts.
It seemed like one of those nights to be honest where we made far too many errors and those were further compounded by rotten luck.

you must be mistaken as many on here think Hall was good against Wigan, must have all happened on the other wing huh

| We must take the rose coloured glasses off now and again.
Against the form team, with a fully fit squad bar one, granted a winger, for the outside backs we could only come up with, a utility player for one centre, a "will he won't he make it" player for the other (we keep asking), and two young inexsperienced players, who are touted as centres on the wings.
Lets face it, it's not hard to come up with a half decent game plan, Cas with more guile could have and Hudd's nearly did exploit us, many more could on viewing Wigan game.
Next years shopping list Mr Rule, we need SPECIALIST EXPERIENCED centres, not since Richie Barnet and Deon Bird have we had this in the camp.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

like who?
We've got 2 internationals, a international academy captain and 2 other players who have been in the first team squad for 5 seasons or more challenging for a centre spot.

| I haven't got the answer, it's the boards job, we missed Atkins, i like sheldon, exports, i'm sure they are out there.
One of my points is in your answer, 'challenging for a spot for five years',it should be nailed down by now for the club and them, will they make it, how long do we give them, i don't think currently any of the outside backs other than Brisc would get near an England call, and that i feel, would be an investment type call up, to have him around the squad for experience.

I dont think our backs are an issue, they'll score tries with the right service and are all pretty sound defensively.
Our issue is consistency of performance and keeping our halves fit imo.

| Agar needs to give Hall a good run in the centre position, instead of dropping him after a bad performance. He doesn't seem to do this to any other player. Hall needs confidence and when he's full of it it shows in the game. Bet he hates it when we get beat knowing that more than likely he'll get the blame for it.
FFS Agar keep him in the team he's our best attacking player. Stop playing it safe by putting Whiting in the centres when we should have Hall there ready to attack players like Sykes, Sheriffe, Nero etc. He'll have a field day against them.
