| Quote: Tarquin Fuego "I think people missed an important point here
Alcohol and the players have ruined our last 2 seasons !!!!
Playing Friday allowed many of them to have 4-5 pints after the game Friday , then binge Saturday and even Sundays
Monday and Tues training is then at a terribly low intensity and only gets going Weds and then they take it easy Thurs.
Am I cynical ? we are talking about mostly working class lads aged 18 -28 , what are you doing yourself or what did you do yourself at this age ?
Fizzy coke is also out of your system after 48 hours.
Just a thought , if we played on a Sunday afternoon where can you go on the mickey on a Monday tea time ??'"
What has ruined our last 2 seasons has been, in the main, having no decent half backs playing for us. I'd take a ed up half back who knew what he was doing in that position over the sober ones who have been either injured or just shiite.

| Good news for me. Sorry for those who it doesn't suit though. The predicted drop in attendances doesn't seem to have happened either.

TBF only one or two posters predicted any significant drop in attendances. Although it might be interesting to see what the impact on attendance by away fans has been.

Also it must have some effect on away support, the likes of Wigan/Saints/Warrington etc its a fair old haul for them to make 8pm at times.
May have been beneficial to play the Yorkshire teams on Fridays and the lancashire etc on a sat/sun'"
probably only brought 500-600 all together added up in the last 3 seasons, including sundays so i wouldn't take them into account

Its disappointing but as has been said not entirely suprising. I will though be at the reserve matches as per usual so I will get my fix.'"
I genuinely feel for you. Let's just hope they play well enough next year to appear on more of Sky's saturday fixtures so you can get to some more home games.

Didn't they send out a message out via the grapevine about the poll? Also if you have access to the grapevine, you more than likely have access to the net.

that is very hard to work out. I'd imagine away trips would be a 'luxury' people would cut back on in a recession. Also there have been barely any 'vital' games at the KC for fans to come over for. Bradford needed a win in the last game, so brought a better crowd than 2008.
But apart from that game I can't think of a game I'd have been in a hurry to see if I was a fan of another team. Whereas in other years we've been involved in clashes that decided playoff places etc

Not disputing that may have gone on, probably still will with the odd one or 2..
However my point was Sunday 10.30pm to Wed 5am could be a p*ss up, my 22 & 18 years and friends do not even go out drinking whilst gone 10.00pm

I'd go regardless, but Fridays definitely better than Sundays for me.
Fridays suit me, but when was this survey carried out?

| It would have been preferable to have the occasional Sunday game but I'm quite happy with Fridays.
As far as away support is concerned, I really don't see it as a major issue.
Rovers would be a lunch time kick off anyway and games against Leeds and Wigan have almost always been Friday night games since the move to the KC. Away support for Celtic, Harlequins and Catalans is an irrelevance and if Friday nights mean the likes of Salford and Huddersfield bring 250 rather than 400 on a Sunday, who cares?
