Agreed there! With the two Mc's in the second row our defense was as tight as a drum. Only problem came when one went off the filed or a rest

radford showed on Saturday he can do a good job when he's played at prop. He's probably better than dowes and not that far behind cusack. Would have rather moved him to front row next season and not re-signed cusack, then kept Moa. As it is we'll either have radford at 13, which is stifiling us in attack, radford at 2nd row along with 2 other "workhorse" players in fitz and burnett, or radford at prop with dowes and cusack who are both very similar.

i cannot help but think as i read the articles about clearance of fc that we let probably the best full back go not to long ago, Shaun Briscoe, how many more players are we going to release and regret. I agree with the vast majority on here to keep sam moa he is young and will grow in stature. Thorman has done nothing, Tony has not played since !!!!!, G Horne is a good squad player, Dowes will go i think, Tickle is muted to have offers from Wigan, T. Lee has never fulfilled potential he showed.

Quote: Uncle Junior "Assuming the promised clearout does materialise this season, I'd like to know who people would like to see get shown the door. Not what they think Agar will do but what they'd do themselves, also don't worry about contracts or whether people know for a fact if certain players are staying or going, I just want people's opinions.

Here's my list

Thorman
Maloney
Tony
Byrne
G Horne all to go imo.

Cusack i would keep given the option.

And as for the captaincy i would give that to Richard Horne or Fitzy

Never in a million years, Horney is so far removed from captain material it's untrue, has to be Fitzgibbon a true leader in every sense of the word.

Without doubt it should be Fitz.

Therefore let's expect agars annoucment that he is giving it to Josh Hodgson

Just to reiterate the point because people seem to be having trouble with it: IF CONTRACTS WEREN'T AN ISSUE, I'd get rid of:

Tony
Byrne (already done)
Thorman
Cusack
G Horne
Thackray
King
Cordoba

and maybe one of Dowes/Radford.

Welcome to the salary cap i'm afraid....year on year players want / get bigger deals, while more youngsters knock on the door of the 1st team and are seen as an efficient replacement (economic) than the established 'squad' player (such as Lee etc).

It's inevitable that we release players.....we can't keep everyone and stifle player turnover.

Why? They are both similar type of prop, Cusack is the better of the two. Dowes has been searching for form for 2 seasons now and im thinking he might not find it.

I'd have 4 props of Lauaki, Cusack, O'Meley and Moa. If Dowes is happy been backup then fair enough.

Quote: "we have still not replaced Mcnemamy yet, a skillfull forward good ball player and kicker .

Never a true word said that man. We were only talking about this the other day. Macca brought so much to the team, aggression, offloads and scored a few try's. If it was'nt for him we would not have found a way to score the winning try at Cardiff! We have not replaced this fella with a likewise player and although not the route of all our problems, this is just one area we are failing in. By the way, I see people's views on Fitz being next year's Captain and I don't toatally disagree, but he is only here for the season (up to now) and we would then need to find another captain-seems a bit of an odd situation. What about Berro? just a thought. '"

Quote: Cory69 "omeley, fitz, lauk, moa, hmm i think we need to keep anouther front row just to be on the safe side injury wise you know what hull are like for injuries.'"

Next year our front row will be

Dowes
Yak
O'Meley
Hame

with players backing up from Radford/Fitz/Maybe one other. That's enough cover for the front row imo, you can't keep 30 odd year olds just in case of injury, you don't see saints or leeds having a reserve team with oldies in it, what we need to do is bring in youth players when the injuries occur because it's a lot easier coming into a front row of Yak/O'Meley/Hame then it is King/Thackeray/Maloney

All the time Dowes is at Hull he'll always be a starting prop.
