[b:1g6itio7][color=#000000:1g6itio7]Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.; [/color:1g6itio7][/b:1g6itio7]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_663.jpg

Who owns St JAMES'S ?

Not Newcastle council thats for sure

I am not kidding myself, I do not actually believe it effects FC at all as to the size of the stadium as we will jsut lock off what we do not want. It will not effect what we pay to use it or when we use it.

Who is going to pay for it .......................... ?

Remembering its 100% council owned and they have neither the politcal will or money to do the job .

Those who follow the path of the righteous: shall have their reward.:

Ian P. made the point that the KC is owned by the City Council and there is no way they should fund an expansion to the stadium. Why should the whole of the city have to pay for it when not all the city would get the benefit. Unless Duffen actually thought further than his own football team and staged International Rugby League (possibly World Cup Football) and concerts etc. But that is hardly likely. Who would fund a new ground for Hull FC when they have the KC available?
Perhaps the first improvement to the KC should be to do something about the state of the pitch, even makes Wembley look good.

phleastyler wrote: i worked on the engineering side of the kc and the east stand can be developed to be the same as the west by taking the roof off and adding another tier. it was designed this way so possible increases could be done at a later date.

however, depending on how the extra tier was done (corporate boxes to seating) the capacity would only rise to between a min of 29k to a maximum of 33k. to my knowledge this is the max it can go to with existing plans

PD was on Humberside lately saying that the original designers were drawing up the plans to take the Stadium capacity to either 40,000 or 45,000.

Not saying they cany expand bigger but the original plans were just for the expansion of east stand to be easy.

expansion is always possible just extra structural work etc needed. look at old trafford for example. can always find a way. just pointing out the original plans for hfc fans benefit

Quote: Jake the Peg "If he's relying on the council to pay for it he has no chance. Govt funding cuts means councils are gonna be even more skint than ever going forward. Only issue I can see is that the council may give the KC, or a potion of ownership of it, to city in lieu of them paying for expansion.

We had a 25 year agreement to play there and we're already 8 or so years in so 1/3rd of it has gone already'"

Ithink we can all bang on about this forever - it aint going to happen unless Paul Duffen wins the Euro Millions Rollover - but o no if he did he would buy a big club like Liverpool or Newcastle!!

I know a few guys very high up at City and asked them about the extension a few weeks ago. They both said that it would not be happening for a few years to come. If it was to go ahead, the East stand season ticket holders would not be affected as the 2nd tier would be set back from the 1st, like the West stand.

There would also be no reason for Hull FC to move out as both parties concerned agree that it is a shared stadium!

Wrong

We sold out every home game apart from 1 IIRC, it was also the same for away games everyone was sold out apart from 2 or 3 i think

Think it will be atleast 2 years before the council even start to plan expanding the stadium cause they will wait for us establish in the PL first.

so why is it that 24945 people attended the united game, yet the average was 24816? So all but the united game did not sell out, it may only be 100 seats but still not sold out. When united have a 76,000 all seated stadium but there are over 100,000 applications for tickets, now that's grounds for expansion.

OLD FAITHFUL PAL OF MINE:

To justify an expansion at the KC, Hull City must stay in the premier league for another 2 seasons at least before anything is decided. They need the premier league's TV money and need to be secure in it first.

If they had gone down this season, I really don't think they would've come back. Then they would be playing in front of 15-20 thousand empty seats too icon_idea.gif

The reason that these plans are being drawn up is to show the FA that the KC can be expanded above 40,000 as that is the minimum capacity for a ground holding a World cup match.

Do you honestly believe that the KC will be picked to hold any world cup fixtures if the FA actually is picked to hold the 2018 World cup, Certain elements of the premiership don't even think City should be in the premiership let alone that the KC stadium should be allowed to hold such fixtures.

And the only way the KC will ever be expanded to 40,000+ is if it actually gets these fixtures otherwise forget it as although City are able to draw full houses on a 25,000 stadium the max the stadium will increase is by 7,000 and that will only be after City have managed to stay in the premiership for another couple of seasons and then the council will hope to get funding to help expand the stadium so don't expect the capacity to raise anytime soon..

The lowest League attenadance was 24282. That was lower than the rest of the games due to Wigan not selling all their tickets.

Season tickets were limited to 20500 and the Club could have sold quite a few more. Like it or not, with City in the Premier League, the KC will be/was full every Home League game.

Your right but the problem city have is if they drop a division plenty of fans wont carry on getting passes etc. as seen by the mad rush for tickets as soon as people knew they where staying up. for a club to spend £40mill on the ground when they need it for players to stay in the league to fill the ground is a no brainer. if the stadium expands it will be bit by bit

Can't really disagree there, but it has to be said that over 19,000 season ticket holders re-newed before they knew which League City would be playing in next season.
