Great effort from all our debutants. Thought we got lucky with that late disallowed Rovers try, but we had days when we haven’t had the right decisions go our way. A great individual hat trick from Mikey Lewis, shame he doesn’t play for us.

Hopefully this helps re-launch our season. It will be very tough at Wigan, but then chances against Cas and Toulouse, especially with a few bodies back.

decent first 15 minutes but looks like that is all he has in him

Think he puts too much energy into trying to put big hits on every tackle. Sprints out the line and the if he misses he has to turn and run 20 metres back, before turning again to defend the next tackle.
Needs to calm down a bit in my opinion

Blimey O’Reilly how did we manage to come away with that other than thanks to Cootes pretty poor kicking and a dubious call by the VR (though technically could be considered a knock on as lost control and seemed to hit Longstaffs hand.
Thought Walker and Longstaff were great today and Simm showed up well along with Laidlaw who didn’t look out of place at all.

Defence very ropey but to be fair was going to be iffy with so many debutants and such a short time to prep with them. That’s said still come up with basic and unforced errors and were our own worst enemy.

Still I’ll take the win and hopefully much improvement next week but need to stop gifting opposition a way back into games.
