Quote: cod'ead "As you say, they are mic'd up, so there's not so much need for them to enter the field, they can communicate by radio.

TJs are still under the instruction of the referee and their input will depend on what the referee seems appropriate. By all means criticise TJs for missing an offence but remember, if they've seen it, they may have been instructed to do nothing but verbally report it over the radio'"

That for me is a big issue that brings us back to the ref. Surely the officials are there to uphold the laws of the game, not ignore offences because the man who can run around a bit more (rather than just up and down) decides that?

Quote: REPECT "I now find it almost laughable that Agar is in bother for breaking the "REPECT" code or whaterever the RFL want to call it this week. When are the RFL going to respect not only coach's and players opinions and safety, but also the opinion of FANS. By taking no action against Child and sweeping it under the carpet and hoping that we will all forget about it, the RFL have managed to make this fan feel utterly disrespected'"

Totally understand your frustration we have had James Child at MM and at your place on Friday and the guy has me pulling my hair out. However the respect campaign has been going for some time and it was put in place to ensure a safe and resectable environment in which to play and watch RL be that at amateur or professional level.

Having been involved with Junior and youth rugby for a number of years we have to teach players parents coaching staff and spectators how to operate within the Respect banner. How can I tell an 8 year old that he is not allowed to rant and rave at a referee if he see's a professional doing it.

Agar is paid enough to know that he should act in a professional manner at all times and any complaints should be made in the correct manner, even in the most trying of situations (otherwise known as being at a game Mr Child ref's)

Quite agree with what you say, but respect has to work both ways. It could be argued that both Hull FC and Castleford where not shown respect/professionalism by the official in charge, or by the people who continue to put him in charge of top teer games when his record is there for all to see.

All the more reason to question why Noble wasn't charged after berating the officials at the Crusaders game last season in full view of an 11,000+ crowd at the KC.

Thats also fair comment, he left the stadium showered, dressed and booted in under 20 mins, yet the arch enemy S Ganson always goes to both coaches afterwards to discuss individual issues and will admit if he is wrong...
there is the difference ..
I am sure childs will grow as his experience grows but in the meantime he has to use "ref sense" and even up penalty counts the old way and solve mistakes on the hoof as the other refs do ...
As RH said, he doesnt talk TO players he talks AT them...

Lets hope he does grow in experience as we all know how short of officials the game is.
In the meantime though Richard Agar has been put on a charge, whilst Mr Child will be busy refereeing the Superleague Champs on Friday, according to the RFL website.
See what I mean about respect working both ways?

What details he left within 20 minutes without going and discussing points with the coaches icon_wink.gif ....Now I wonder why icon_lol.gif

I doubt very much the full extent of what happened will be made public.

It does seem that something was said behind the scenes, but I wasn't there, so can't comment. What I did see last Friday was a terrible refereeing display from Mr Child who'll just go on his merry way to ref at Wigan tomorrow. Best of luck to both them and Le Cats, they'll need it if he keeps on form!

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_35457.png

Now you feel like we did about Thaler. Childs though makes Thaler look class, he took our freindly against Salford and chucked over 30pens out, most for holding down. Vella did go to him a few times and you could imagine him saying 'Come on mate both sides are fecked as its our second hitout, can we shelve this holding down crap and just play?'
He then sin binned 2 and sent off 1 for Salford (they may have voiced opinions). Mcrae did however be more diplomatic than Agar!

ps I would like to see the odds for less then 10 pens tomorrow! might be worth a few bob.
