| Adding to the overwhelming sense of disappointment with the recruitment so far the optics of signing a 35yr old winger on a 2 year deal doesn't look good. However from what I've read Canberra fans love him and want him to stay for another year.

| Quote: mean_machine "Rapana a decent signing and still playing well in top league so you can’t argue with that (age maybe an issue, but small) and beating Leeds to anything is always fun.
Can’t believe you’re going with them 2 in centres though. Not sure on Opacic plans but surely make a play for him, he’s better then hardaker and chamberlain
Keep everyone on the pitch and I can see you 6-8, starting 17 is vastly improved on the rough basis of what I think it would be
Patience probably needed for 2 or 3 cycles, but understand why it could be thin on the ground after recent seasons. You'll get there'"
We're all quotad up now so no Opacic. He's moving back home to Q cup. Must be family reasons he's going back as he'd surely pick up another SL team

| Very good player is Rapana, ultimate competitor and will hopefully rub off on the squad, especially the young backs.
No doubting we have a better squad from Feb 2024 but just not as good as we’d hoped for, especially at half back.
Hopefully with a proper coaching set up and conditioning staff we can start to climb up the league and get some pride back in the club.

| Could definitely player centre here, Nene McDonald was a winger in the NRL but made the transition to .
Been brilliant this year. never played less than 19 games in a season, big and strong, makes breaks and loads of meters.
The fact he was offered another NRL contract shows how well he is players.
No doubting his ability, but is he the right position.

| That leadership group of Ese'ese, Asiata and Rapana doesn't look too bad

What if Carlos retires and Ligi goes off to be a firefighter?

Carlos quota place has gone, I defiantly move Sao on if possible, sign a domestic forward and sign a quota centre

You'd guess Sao is at risk if we are still looking to recruit overseas. If we could move him on and sign a centre I'd be all for it

I know Sao has brain farts and poor discipline but we'd struggle to find a middle forward to replace him domestically

| Sao is still a decent prop but does his pros outweigh his stupidity? Probably not for me, if we have a chance to replace him with a better player either domestically or oversees we should take it.

| One area Rapana can massively improve us is clearing our own line. We've struggled big time this year on exit sets. Our backs don't pack the same punch that Tuli, Fonua, Faraimo, etc used to. Rapana is a big frame and if he's returning the ball from full back he can get our exit sets starting on the front foot.

Reading the Raiders fans comments he is massively respected and just about everyone of them are gutted that he's leaving. It's almost like the club are in mourning over his departure.
As you say it's what position he'll play. I think it'll have to be full back. Over his career he's only played centre 10 times last being 3 years ago according to RL project. The vast majority of the games have been on the wing but this season he's played mostly full back.

Unless we pay a transfer fee which is unlikely.

| This is a fantastic pick up by Myler!! Great piece of business! Robust, leader, Hardworker, everything weve needed this year, top class NRL level Fullback/Winger and as others have said he will do wonders for Moy, Martin,Barron and their progression, I'm really happy with this one.
PS for all negative lazy comebacks about his age... SO WHAT??? In todays modern game it means very little as the top top players (Like Rapana) are better conditioned and therefore more robust than most of the younger players we have... You only have to look east of the river to see age means very little...
Hall - 36
Hiku - 31
Parcell - 31
Evalds - 31
Hadley - 32
Sue - 32
All wrong side of 30 but still performing at a quality level week in week out, the list extends to other teams too who are at the top end of the table and have players that are some of their best performers each week and in their mid 30's so regardless of what you think around the players playing ability, attitude etc etc, can we stop even using age at all in any argument about who we have signed as it means next to nothing.

He is Ok, think he is replaceable, Ashworth is about on par if he is fit and he was a reserve layer at Hudds last year, probably the easiest position to recruit for in SL. Someone like English (might have to pay a fee) would be a good replacement.
