We have not had a proper scrum half since tony smith left. We have badly needed a scrum half. We have now got one. If he had signed for another super league team would we have had people moaning about not signing him. He might be getting on but if he can play most games for the next two years then he will be far better than we have had to watch.

At the end of the day saints see longy train every day, see how he plays every week and know what sort of shape he really in.

It's obvious saints don't think he got 2 years left at the top level or we would have give him 2yr deal.

He could very well turn out good deal for hull with the change of club and also he better than what you got at moment.

I hope he plays well for hull but not against saints.

Now we got to see who plays 7 for us.

Or Saints have better players coming through who are younger and on less money (Steve Prescott springs to mind with Wellens coming through), that doesnt mean he is a bad signing for Hull.

As said before it seems like the Tony Smith signing to me, he did a great job for Hull in his time here, and wasnt wanted by wigan at the time.

difference is keith senior is still better than any of your centres at his age which does not say much for yours.
You can shout from the rooftops about signing Long if this was 2007, but its not and he isnt half the player he was. I am sure he will love the 5 hour round trip to training every day too ! Like i said he is better than that muppet thorman but come 2010, after another long hard season with saints, he will be way way past his best....sorry to on your bonfire

Why are you so bothered he hasn't signed for Leeds. He is apparently looking into moving to Hull so commuting won't be a problem.

Senior isn't better than our current centres, they have careers AHEAD of them.

I think that is part of it tbh. I think if we had signed him now for 2 years we would have run the risk of losing the young players who are lined up as possible replacements - why spend 2 years as "second best" when they could become first choice elsewhere - and in the long run that would be a bigger blow for the club.

As I have said before its a good signing for Hull I think, and wish him all the best.

But he is a ten under the sheets.
