If he'd already proven himself to be worth keeping then fair enough but so far its all been about his potential but for me as much as I wanted him to break in to the team he hasn't nor has he achieved anything or he can be more than just a potential.
Disappointing that Jack Brown is injured as think he will be a player that lives up to the potential and performs above that.'"
Clean slate this season Chris, perhaps it shows the pre season has really tested our young front rowers, and for a change our squad will be fit and ready. Too early to write Massi off yet, this year is his must perform season. There’s another young prop Burrell who’s catching the eye in our reserves.'"
I'm not writing him of just yet and its unfortunate that he ahs suffered an injury as its something he can ill afford as he has to prove himself this season as he is no longer classed in the young up and coming bracket he is of an age where he has to show its not just potential anymore.
But it is a bit like deja vu again

It’s strange really we’ve lost quite a few players, yet just signed one, and yet the confidence seems better than usual, as we all wait in anticipation of the new coach’s influence.

We already had a good team and in real terms we've swapped Kelly for Reynolds.
The biggest difference it appears has been the positive influence of Hodgson on the squad.
Looking forward to Sunday, Huddersfield will be a good test.
2 teams with something to prove.

I'd love to see us get off to a flying start with a resounding victory, but I'd take a close win with hopefully no injuries.
I think we'll see the best of Sao this year, of all our imports, he was the one who impressed me most last year and I feel he can be the main man in our pack this year, he has grunt and a bit of mongrel and looks a decent ball player too.
Going to exhaust myself shortly, starting with the SKY NRL games and the Super League marathon, probably be comatose by Saturday afternoon but what else is there to do?'"
I just wonder how Ligi Soa will be used this season as at the moment it seems he will be used off the bench if Satae is starting.
For me he is a starting player but if he is used off the bench for his impact i hope he plays a lot more minutes than normal bench replacements.

Exactly what I've been saying
Weve lost our 2 most dangerous attacking players in Kelly and Ratu and a leader in Ellis
And signed just Reynolds
We was poor apart from the final 3 or 4 games last season
And people forget we was given that final play off spot
If it wasn't for that it would of been classed a very poor season

TBF Ratu is a loss for his speed and ability at breaking the line though he was still suspect defensively.
Ellis I feel as part of the coaching team will have a bigger impact and influence than before and hardly played last season.
Kelly was a key part of our attacking options but he was more s maverick player than a structured player and like Ellis hardly player last season.
For me Reynolds is most certainly a step up in terms of quality of player to Kelly so we’ve improved massively there.
I certainly think all things considered we are better than we were last season.

Think you are a bit harsh there on Ratu.Which winger is a good defender when up against a potential overlap?
Ratu was a very stong defender and excellent in the air.Massive miss for us.
Bit concerned that we could lose Reynolds to a hamstring injury having played little in the last two years and the weather cold.
The physio needs to get him stretching and warming up those chicken legs and covering the hamstrings.
I see Field at Wigan has done exactly this last night and we dont want to lose Reynolds for several weeks so early in the season.

No doubt he’ll be a big miss, haven’t said he won’t be and dont think I have been harsh on Ratu. Whilst he hit hard in defence he was also suspect in defence positionally coming in off his wing too often etc.

| I watched all the games so far, I’ve missed our game so much, but I’ve missed actually being there more.
We have had golden point, culminating in our deadliest rivals losing (deservedly) Post edited and user warned. This will not be tolerated.Karen..
An icon of the game spicing up the terribly dull sky team, seemingly slightly inebriated, two stone overweight, and ready to enhance our game further on the field.
A returned Australian half, who is linked with an NRL return, despite being contracted to probably the richest club in the league, and not available for the season opener.
An Australian lady who captains Leeds rugby league team, wondering where rovers next point is coming from, they scored a further twenty eight in the last forty.
We’ve seen Leigh throw away a big lead, and miss out on a sensational opening match.
The first weekend of a basically northern game, which has everything, yet is worth nothing, welcome back super league, and we haven’t even played yet.

| Round one, this game has the makings of an epic tussle, another golden point game perhaps, nervously waiting for kick off.

Can't remember too many times Taylor has started from the bench.
Scott playing suggests Griffin will move to SR later on in the game.
Cator to spell Houghton. Maybe Hodgson thinks hooker is his best position, unless Johnstone is injured.
Lane playing LF is an interesting selection.
Still think we lack one more quality forward.
