| Quote: Staffs FC "Well I'm hoping that lucky 7 will strike.
My losing Wembley finals are 1980,82,83,85,2008 and 2013 so I'm banking on a lucky 7th attempt.
One thing I was saying last night though - at least this year if we lose we should still have something else to play for - the season wont be dead and buried there and then. But if I'm truthful a Wembley win will always be top of the agenda until (and if ever) we actually achieve it.'"
there all my losing finals as well I was 15 in 1980, I didn't realise until you posted there was as many but 7 is my birthday and has always been my lucky number so that's another good omen for me, works buzzing every one who even has just a casual interest in the club are going so we should take a massive following can not wait to wave the team off from the KC stadium onto Wembley all part of the experience for me

I'm the same (although I saw us draw in 82 so maybe you left early?) and I said in 2013 I wasn't going back until after we'd won there but obviously I am

| Where do you reckon the best place to drink is, the last two times, haven't been very successful finding decent pubs, want ones with good atmosphere, but not too busy that to can't get served.
We are parking at Stamore so anywhere around there or on the way to Wembley.
Any ideas?

I'm thinking of parking at Stanmore. Is it in the train station itself that you can park?
I'll be heading to The Torch near the ground. Or the premier Inn was good in 2008

I'm parking on someone's drive using just park.com, thought it better to pre book cost £9 for the day, 2 min walk to station.

As pointed out 82 was a draw. Was there but missed the replay. Also did not get to the 2005 final so have never been to a Hull CC win.
This will be my 7th attempt to see a Wembley win and definitely my last...... 1959,60, 80,82,83,85.

| Probably one of the shorter journey's of Hull fans, 35-40 min drive and a 20 minute walk. Makes up for the journeys up to Hull in a small way.
The sacrifice some fans are making is outstanding, let's hope that their efforts are rewarded.
7th time lucky for me (80-2013) but classify the '81 & '86 finals I attended as a sweet result watching the red & white sh 1 te welling up in dissapoinment.

Saw Rovers lose in '64 and win in '80. Team I have seen win most at Wembley is Wigan(6) followed by Wakefield(3). All between'50 and '85.

Good point OP amended. I left early to get a good place on the KOP at Elland Road

| For those thinking of parking at Stanmore it gets quite busy. Drive down to the next station on the line Cannons Park (about a mile) and there is a Car Park with almost no one on it.

Saturday - he has bought 5 tickets and booked his hotel!'"
That was pretty much me. 4 Wembley losses and one draw has my stomach churning. When I think that my grandfather never saw a Wembley win and my father never saw Wembley win it starts to look like a seriously large achievement, and historic event. I must be getting old.
Also, opted for the alcohol-free driving day to enable us pick up a friend from Sheffield on the way as her husband's already booked the full weekend in London with his brother.
