| Highlights are up now freeview on fclive. He's got pace to burn and it was nice to see him not panic and get the pass away to Miller for one of his tries.
Comedy moment of DJ running flat out for his try with Lineham just jogging along on his right shoulder

All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason.

official match highlights, he spotted Whiting's break for his 2nd try before it had happened and linked in fairly well for Briscoe's second

I was trying to work out what Lineham was saying, it looks like he asks for it then gives up and just says 'guwon mate'

Lineham was desperate for a pass towards the end of the match. Jumping up and down and waving.
Only one of our backs not to score. In fact only one of numbers 1 to 8 not to score.

Haha, I wish he had scored, only got me about 8 points in my super league dream team!

In terms of style think Shaun Briscoe in his pomp when he used to put himself right in the centre of the attacking line and just push through hoping for the pass off the half break. That said Shaul has after burners that Briscoe, although quick, never had.'"
We said that watching the tries back, running the middle channel. Good to see genuine pace coming through in our young backs.

I thought it was great on Holdsworth's try to see him flanked by not one, not two, but THREE supporting runners. Long overdue that we had that kind of thing happening.

Said exactly the same at the game, every break saw Miller & Shaul in support and either Briscoe and Lineham, depending which side the break came.
Thought Briscoe showed some great pace on Friday, really powerful running.
Shame he's not staying, in a year or so our back line could be Shaul, Lineham, Crooks, Arundel & Briscoe. All English and all under 25.

I agree. Think it's one of Arundel's strengths, too. He's another who had a pretty good game and I still think he'll turn out good for us.

He was originally a h/back but was moved to f/back for Skirlaugh 1st team where he excelled so tbf he has had experience in the f/back position., a very exciting prospect.

| Miller, Shaul, Crooks, Lineham, Arundel, Green, Bowden and Crookes (possibly if he gets a decent run of games) Isn't it great to be talking about exciting young players coming though our team instead of wanting to bring in new players all the time. Add those guys to the experienced heads and i can see the next few years being very interesting.

| I think people are getting a little carried away with Shaul. He's undoubtedly a promising prospect, but he's yet to face any real pressure in an intense game. If Horne is fit, it'd be madness not to play him, in my opinion.

I don't disagree that he has to face some real pressure and hopefully he will in the derby, so far he has gone well with the challenges, barring a couple of handling errors which even the likes of Tomkins make. For me if Shaul does go well in the derby it would be madness not to play him and replace him with Horney. I think Horney has been outstanding this year, however he has been out a while with an injur,y and historically his form has been erratic when he has returned from injury, so that is a bigger gamble. If it considered Shaul cannot cope with the pressure I personally would go with Whiting at f/back before Horney tbh.

| Watching on Friday you couldn't fail to notice how as a team we seem to have far more pace collectively then in recent years. I know Widnes were poor as Lee Richardson alluded to once or twice ( ) but it was still good to see our backs breaking with real pace.

If Horne's fit, I'll be flabbergasted if Gentle leaves him out. A proven, experienced player with several big games under his belt is far less of a risk than a youngster with only a handful of first team games to his name. Horne coming back from injury makes little difference to that.
