Just shows who gullable the local media are. I can't see this happening for various reason such as providing the actual funding for a new stadium, getting the actual and proper plans drawn up (not old ones of the KC they were posing with before) then putting in all the relevant applications in for the build etc to the East Riding Council, then waiting for any sort decision. Plus no doubt the local residents of Welton, Melton & North ferriby would most likely contest any application. Even if it got the go ahead how many people would actually use the facilities they spoke of originally to make it actually pay for itself? The age old Geographical position of Hull is always going to hamper it with any sort of development like this as its not somewhere you go to visit unless you have as you just don't pass through it.
Hence why the Allams are stoking up the pressure on HCC to try and force their hand on the ownership of the KC. It will take years of wrangling etc thorugh the correct channels before they even get round to laying a foundation let alone a completed Stadium.
The Allams may have significant wealth but that doesn't mean they can afford to spend the amount of capital needed to keep City running along aswell as developing a Stadium and complex.

| The only way that Hull City could achieve and maintain a presence in the EPL is if they suddenly found themselves the target of a foreign benefactor who was absolutely awash with money. Given that even the Russian oligarchs and Arabian oil billionaires now seem to be reining in their previous profligacy, it's difficult to see just where such a person will arrive from.
If such a person could be found, I'd imagine there would be far more attractive propositions in the Championship than Hull City AFC. The demographics suggest that maximum attendances would rarely break the 30,000 barrier, so I couldn't envisage any sort of positive financial return on the capital outlay, never mind the running costs of an out of town EPL venture.
There is always the argument of "build it and they will come" but I doubt it would work successfully at Melton. It's almost as if someone has gone as far as he can with his Subbuteo and now see adding Lego into the mix might be good in the long run

That's a good idea. A 15,00 capacity stadium which would be almost full every home match would create a much better atmosphere and would be more akin to the dear old Boulevard. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening.

| Wouldn’t they also have to buy out their remaining lease at the KC?

| Well City won't be going to Melton - there is a big residential/mixed use planning application in for the land that they earmarked for a stadium - with no stadium in sight.
I wonder if the signage over the blue towers has planning permission as it fundamentally changes the appearance of the stadium - mind you, it could be a temporary sign.

I think 18000 would be more suitable

| Hull City's accounts show a debit of £57 million, plus if they left the KC they would still have to pay the remaining 40 years on the lease at about a million a year. Plus it would cost around 100 million to build a 40000 stadium. I don't think city are going anywhere. Burnsey's clueless

Thanks for the link to not606 - I have read some stuff in my time - The thing that stands out is how they really think that their owner only has to wave a magic wand and hey presto we can build a Stadium on Kingswood or Long Lane - Long Lane for Christ sakes !!!! One even wants to be on their own again cos after all they were so successful pre KC Stadium . Mind Blowing.
