How about baring your cheeks in Hammond's window? You probably won't have to - even folk who actually lose their bets in Hull aren't held accountable.

Exactly, dont know where this originated but PP wont be going anywhere, he is contracted for next season at Wigan, why would he want to come here?

| Hopefully it isn't over yet, but I am so far disappointed with our recruitment so far, ,happy with Sharp who I think we turn out to be an excellent signing, but feel we have missed out on a few players who would have improved our squad.
Mathers
Emmitt
M Smith
Hargreaves
and possible Orr,
All signed for smaller clubs who finished below us last season.
Hopefully Agar has a couple of aces up his sleeve or we will be competing for 7th at best next season.

Thats what I like to hear, fans with some optimism.
All those teams who finished above us this season, are more than capable of doing so again next year having in many instances, recruited strongly or having a crop of excellent youngsters coming through. Rovers will be much stronger and better coached, Bradford appear to putting a decent side together as well as recruiting a more than capable coach. Salford will be better for the crop of players coming in and if Camel lips stays at the Crusaders I don't expect them to take a backwards step, that leaves us scrapping with the likes of Quins, Cas, Le Cats (who I think are recruiting reasonably well) and the new franchise for the minor places. Unlike some on here I foresee no end to the persitent injuries, particular with a 34 yr old scrum half (who will continue to get injured) and who will recieve little or no help from his current halfback partner in optimising our attacking options, nor any direction from our inept coach.
I fully expect another slide in the wrong direction, a season of injuries, no success and another 2 1/2 year deal for Agar at the end of next year, and like many others will still buy my season pass for 2012 along with shirt etc. etc. etc.
Its all a bit like the blind leading the blind really, but that, as Wilf regularly says is what being a Hull FC fan is all about. We expect much and once every 20 years or so get something back in return - only another 15 years to wait, everything else in between is just window dressing.

| we already have the basis of a good squad.injuries were a big problem for us last season(6&7),and we didn't have quality backup to those positions.i think people need to reserve judgement until we see or hear who is brought in.not every signing has to be finalised 6/8 months before the following season.

| I agree, but with pre-season due to kick off in 3 (4?) weeks, you would have hoped that 'minor' details such as playing staff would have been resolved. It essentially says to me that once we weren't able to attract the players we wanted, we are then left scrabbling around under the table for the scraps and at this moment in time can't find them. Thats either because we are blind, are very choosey or have been beaten to it by all the other small fry.
I don't prescribe to the view that by rights we are a big club, I believe you have to earn that, and the only way to do that is on the field, and with one relatively short exception, we haven't been able to consistently enforce that, its not the be all of why a player wants to join a club, but the opportunity to win trophies is by and large a deterministic factor, coupled with a good deal. We are clearly offering neither, due to our pay structure and lack of recent success (2005 apart).
What confuses me is that despite the fact that everyone apparently wants to play for Agar and see's him as a modern day rugby league Messiah (as the club would have us believe), we still didn't get any of our targets (Will Sharpe aside).

of the 2 targets we are really aware of,LMS decided to go to saints, and fielden was about to sign, until wigan offered him the 2 years, that we did(originally offered him only one).they have just become sl champs, had his best season for around 4 years,so who blames him?if wigan hadn't backed down and given him the deal he wanted,i reckon he would have already signed for us by now!! as for any others, they are rumours, and nothing else.i still believe we will bring in about 2 more to the squad(half back and a prop),who they will be is anyone's guess!!

Why do people keep harking on about this? Fitz, Long and Shrek al said they were impressed with what Agar had to say and wanted to come and play for him, that is hardly referring to him as some kind of messiah.
Fielden agreed to come to Hull right up until Wigan changed their mind and offered him a better deal, he had said all along he would have preferred to stay put, so nothing to do with Agar.
LMS had two similar offers from Hull and Saints but Saints have appeared in the last 5 GF's plus CC finals so it's a no brainer really and they also offered him a big sweetner with the house they had for him.
Hull have missed out on these two players this season but it was nothing to do with Agar, Kath etc it was purely circumstance.
We had no quota spot until recently so have had to look at the British market and you can see from the transfers that have gone through that there is little value around as everyone wants to hang on to their best players.

| apart from bradford and salford, there hasn't been a big turnover of players really??i mean, who is to say we aren't at an advanced stage regarding signings? no-one really knows, apart from the club.if we can get a decent halfback and also a new prop then i think we will be ok.

There's always the option of moving fitz to prop.
We need cover in the halfs as a priority after that we have to look at the hooking/full back positions before prop.

| Heard a former FC player saying to his mate at DW gym that your not looking at bringing anymore in for 2011, its going to be a 'give the kids a go' season (not knocking it, I applaud it if true.)

| Lets be honest unless the club make some sort of statement on who they intend to have in the squad next season the pass sales will be reduced. I for one am seriously thinking about protesting this way and choosing my games. If the young kids are to be given a go lets know and stick with them for the season not just an odd game. It took Wigan giving Tomkins a run to see what a star they had I would do with someone half as skilled as him from our guys, but we need to know.
