| Certainly didn't seem unduly upset about shipping nearly fifty points every game. Just seemed odd to me generally.
Paul Anderson mentioned elsewhere as DOR.

| Learnt very little from that. Don't particularly believe that nobody from Hull has approached wanting to buy or invest. Perhaps that was his way of getting them to increase an offer, or speed things up.
Several further questions should have been asked:
What is happening with Clarky?
Why has the strength and conditioning staff been weakened so much and is that going to be corrected?
Davidson still got a role, as he came with TS?

| I’m hearing a name name from the past,
Agar. Has good contacts, and likes tea.

| Sounds like there is some sort of plan, but certainly not as thought out as I'd hoped.
Hope Pearson was being a bit coy on the interview.

| Yes he was guarded. To me he firmly dismissed the rumoured investors. The York reference was where he last saw Mally Walker at the races - he was enjoying life & not interested in investing.
He made reference to the need for discretion - investors are fearful of social media backlash - pictures of homes etc being published & affecting individuals private lives - too true !
I Wasn't sure if the 20- 25% sat in the stands included Tex Hoy ?
He was clearly hacked off at how the salary cap had been spent ( wasted ) - surely as the CEO he would have a major say in that, or did he just back someone else's judgement ?? Uncle Tony, James Clark ?
He was hopeful of getting player(s) in before the Leeds game.
Recruitment would focus on 3 top signings - Scrum half, second row & centre ( my interpretation of that was Cam Scott is off to Wakey ).
He is in NO doubt that current form is trashing the finances even further, clearly sad that he cant get investment from the local community - was almost advertising for it, clearly happy to sell his shares - talked about minority or majority.
The saga continues.............................

He was let off lightly by the interviewer and all we really know is that a new DOR will be at the club next week.
Still believe any serious investor would want full control of the club and i didnt get the feeling Pearson is interested in that.
Its quite obvious now that Smiths position was quite rightly in doubt several weeks ago.

| Just listening to it now, what he says just after 6 minutes is a key one, sounds like the decision to sack Smith has potential come from outside the club (potential investors) or the maybe players.

| Listened to the full interview, from comments was expecting it to be much worse. My takeaways
Will definitely get some investment, looking for the right deal for him and the club
DOR next week, been in the pipeline for a while, be amazed if it isn't James Webster
New 7 is the priority (think we might get a short term one, maybe Russell) and look to bring one in from the NRL next year.
Fully expect a few changes to coaching staff, including much needed S&C.
At least 3 new players in the next few weeks.
3 new potential head coaches identified both here and the NRL, DOR working on it now and will make the decision.
Not one mention of James Clarke, which is unlike Pearson, guess he has either gone or will be taking on a more business/commercial role.

| He states that we make a loss of £1m per year (as do all clubs). Why would anyone invest in the club (or rugby league) with no chance of financial return and does that mean any new money is via a "benefactor" rather than an "investor"?

Did you listen to it?
Reckons the club could make a profit and expects the club financiall situation to improve once the loans are paid off.
Might not be true though.

| Thought it was a fairly honest interview. He's living in the real world not Facebook world. Interesting few weeks coming up

| The coaching wasn't 'THE' problem but it 100% was 'A' problem. One of seemingly many.
Regardless of how good/skilled our players are, there is no excuse for simply not getting them fit. We have a lot of defensive issues, but you will always have problems when the team aren't fit. It means we have no line speed. Half the players are still running back the 10 when the ball has been played. That's also down to having no idea of how to control a ruck, mainly due to Smith apparently not been a fan of 'the wrestle' (sure I've read that to be the case somewhere).
Apparently we only did a few short training sessions a week. Sounds like nowhere near enough time to work on fitness, defense, attacking structures, team cohesion, anything else.
I was happy when we got Smith in, thought he might turn us around. Now I'm happy he's gone. Fully understand the "but who else can do a better job" comments. That's what the club need to get right. But Smith in my opinion, while not been the only problem with the club, didn't do anything to improve us on the field.
