Well AP said that we were close to securing one of two half backs that wasn't Chase a few weeks back so it could be imminent, only have to wait a month to find out

Then again it could just be HDM spreading rumours

Neither do I. And he's starting to get into some great form. A real good run on the back of a good pass for his try on Sunday and his passion for the team is brilliant.

not too sure about these 2 NRL players unless we are including Gareth Ellis as one

it probably means that most of the '6-8 others' won't be big name players and are on small salaries

can't imagine Aspinwall is on a big pay considering we brought him in so late

I do wonder who "the six" are, after being described as mostly future young internationals you could classify Crookes and Arundal in that category, even though we don't thing Arundal is in "the six". Looking at OOC British players I can't see any others that fit that bill other than O'Loughlin but I can't imagine him signing for us and we don't need a 13.

So we are either paying a fee or we might be disappointed with the names. I'm setting my exceptions low to not be disappointed! If we get Chase and Holdsworth + 1 decent prop, with Ellis, Arundal and Crooks we will be massively better than this year.

I think you're right and it won't be someone of Stewart's class, but the thing is if it was a first team fullback from any but a couple of NRL sides he'd be one of the top 5 in SL straight away IMO.
