If you freeze frame that moment (if your nerves can stand it) there are three Rovers players clear on the right. There looks no way on earth that anybody is going to stop a certain try.

| Quote: Mrs Barista "Not at all. What I'm saying is that there are core members of the team who have proven class and are automatic picks - O'Meley, Fitz, Long, Manu, Tickle etc. If Tickle has a couple of bad games, I think most would agree he deserves longer than that to recover before he's dropped on the basis of runs on the board etc. If you chop and change on a weekly basis the team has no stability at all. IMO there's a core set of players who are "automatic" selections (but with a limit - Berro's been back from injury 5 weeks or so and I saw the case for dropping him) and then some who are not in the first choice 17 if everyone is fit. These players aren't in the first choice 17 for a reason - they're not as good as the first choice 17. Therefore, when the get the opportunity, they have to deliver to retain their place. My point is that of players in that group, Turner, Whiting and Houghton in particular have seized their chance with performances to push them into the 17. Burnett, Hall and Washy haven't.'"
I disagree...if a player is in a run of bad form he should be left out NO matter who they are or birthplace ...im not advocating week in week out changes but just say when all props are fit and Dowes is left out and O'Meley is struggling for form for some reason...Dowes knows he wont get dropped and it just sends out the wrong signals.
Who was the last player dropped from senior players for form??????
Who was last player dropped full stop...Hall and Whiting earlier...Tansey was discipline.

No, because he's an important part of the team, and what they do. It's ludicrous to want Hall treat the same as O'Meley, Fitz, Long, Tickle, Radford etc.'"
I never mentioned Hall...all players should be treat the same or else it could breed unrest in the club......i personally wouldnt put fitz back in on fri,not at 13 anyway,we looked more better with Washy there and im not his biggest fan.

| Quote: east hull FC fan "You can be as pedantic about what people actually said as you want. What I'm actually saying is that people called for Briscoe to be dropped like Craig Hall was.'"
And I'm actually saying that they didn't. Apart from one. I've invited you to prove your assertion but so far you have declined to do so.
Quote: east hull FC fan "Why are you so quick to jump on the Zebras back and now mine? Are you still bitter about the Craig Hall situation?'"
I don't like it when people make stuff up and claim it as fact.
And I've never been bitter about Hall.
PS - Zebra already admitted to just being on a wind up mission. That seems to have gone way over your head.

When was Whiting dropped? He's played one game from the bench and started every other, hasn't he?

| Agar was intelligent enough not to consider dropping Tom after a couple of indifferent games.
Certain posters, and I honestly don't know or particularly care who, were indeed calling for exactly that.
Class is permanent, and he has it in abundance, glad we all agree.

My guess would be he means when Tansey came back in? Maybe?
Think he only went to the bench for that game though.

After the cas match where he was m.o.m after tansey was dropped for disciplinary reasons....next week Tansey back and Whiting dropped to bench....Tansey should have been made to wait imo.

Still dropped to the bench after a m.o.m performance.

He did. Which isn't being 'dropped' exactly, more 'moved', though I didn't agree with the decision after his performance the previous week.

Turner was in and out of the team at the start of the season, Washy's been in for Horne but Agar said he would have been dropped for the derby had Fitz been fit, Burnett's backwards and forwards to Sheffield. I guess what the coach looks at is the potential for success in his 17 for the week ahead and weighs up form and proven quality. If you're more in the unproven/inconsistent category, your form when selected has to be right up there. Briscoe has a bigger tick in the proven quality box hence his international selection IMO than Hall or the others on the fringes of the team.

He was dropped from the starting 13.....moved would be to to the centre or wing.....was Hall on the wing and he got dropped for him??

I know what your saying but you have to be carefull how you handle it.
Burnett can go to Sheffield for me....dont think he will be good enough when our 2nd rowers go and that wont be for a while with new deals.....Fitz should be moved to 2nd row or prop now.

It's difficult on an iPhone, now i'm on the laptop i'll have a look.

As i said, i'll have a look. But i'm fairly confident there's more than one person calling for Briscoe to be treat as Hall.

Not much!
About more than one poster wanting him treat like Hall?

I honestly can't remember, but then I can't remember what happened a week ago. Maybe it was before we found out he could play on the wing as well as every other position.
