| Quote Mrs Barista="Mrs Barista"Never had any such dreams. But you are correct - Washbrook and Horne in the halves is not a Top 4 halfback combo. Well, maybe in the Championship.

| I don't know why some (Saints?) fans are claiming that Longy is injury prone or such like. He is no more or less injury prone than any other player. What Longy has suffered on occasion is horrendous injury, the break to his jaw last season being a classic example of that (and that was his second jaw break - maybe his third, I can't remember - but by far the worst as it knocked the jaw out of position). He is a fearless player and so puts himself in harm's way. It's a real shame he has experienced yet another terrible injury. He's still a Saints legend even if he chose to spend his final two years elsewhere. I hope the elbow isn't as badly injured as first suggested and that he is back playing soon.

Kieron Cunningham had a similar injury in one of the Test Series a few years back, took him about 4 months to recover. Hopefully Longy,s injury is not as bad as that one, it was always a gamble to sign Longy as he gets more injury prone.
Just hopes he finishes his career on a high with you lot, he dosn't deserve to retire because of injury.......Longy,s a Legend.

| Quote His Bobness="His Bobness"Bad luck? Give over. The signing of Long was always a huge gamble.
Long will miss more games than he plays, this season, next season and any other season you decide to keep paying him.
It's what happens to players in their twighlight. Not just Long, everyone.
That's why you'll also regret paying top dollar for another year of Fitzgibbon. He's missed a few this time but you ain't seen nothin yet. It's inevitable and if it wasn't these 2 players would still be wanted at their previous clubs wouldn't they? There's a time to get rid and there's always some mug willing to pick up the tab.
Great players? Undoubtedly. But not as good as Roger Millward or Knocker Norton - and all 4 have similar playing futures in front of them.'" You fecking count, so if Long was 21 he wouldn't mess up his elbow?
I supopose his tatts have weakened his arm too

| Cringed when i heard what Long had done. Dislocated my elbow and suffered ligament damaged when i played and it was the most painful injury i suffered in my career. I was back on the park in 3 months though with the aid of some pretty severe strapping so i wouldnt be surprised to see Longy back sooner given that he will be getting the best medical treatment that money can buy.
Anybody who thinks that the injury was caused by his age have rocks in their heads. Doesnt matter if you are 21 or 31, if you get caught at the right point then your elbow will go.

Poor bloke was writhing in agony on the deck and needed oxygen. Felt for him big time.
Didn't Willie Manu do his elbow in the last couple of years ? How long was he out anyone remember ?

| I'll probably get lambasted, pillaged, raped and flogged for saying this....
....but I actually think a half-back combo of Berrigan and Tansey at 6 & 7 (Whiting to FB) wouldn't be to shabby at all. Playing behind a firing pack i'd still fancy a top 6 finish.
Alas, i'm sure the season will fade out with a combo of Horne and Washy.

Not injury prone? Have you read his book? He lists his injuries in there, he's had some terrible injuries over the years.
Maybe I've watched saints more than saintsfan.
