| Quote His Bobness="His Bobness"Long will be well into his 34th year when he arrives at Hull.
Before the end of his contract he will be in his 36th year. It's too old for a modern day half back at the top level.
He's at that stage where injuries hurt more, happen more frequently and take longer to recover from. Saints didn't want to take the risk and who could blame them. They'll bring in fresh talent while Hull yet again moan about bad luck with injuries when Long is on the treatment table.
Long has been a great player and maybe he deserves this financial windfall at the end of his career. Saints will agree but be glad they've found someone else to fund it.'"
You not a Rovers fan by any chance are you?
I'd be happy to have one good year out of Long.

Look on the Saints board and see for yourself, they don't seem one bit pleased at all that Long has gone

And your point is............
Look pal sean long is not 70% of the player he was and every year gets that little bit worse each year.
He has lost all the pace he had as his trys per season record proves.
Yet he can still turn it on every now and then.
I still think saints are doing rite thing not giving him 2 yrs but would have been happy to him do 1 more year to bed eastmond in coz IMO that ain't been done yet.
Also like I said, the change of club may do him well.
So what ya point.....

| Quote Mrs Barista="Mrs Barista"I've said it loads of times, but Shayne McMenemy was our best player of recent years in terms of aggression and just generally being a pain in the ass for the opposition. We're too nice.'"
I'd love to have McMenemy back now. Wasn't a house hold name but was quality for us. Some of the kicks he put in, only Thorman could dream of.

Some on Saints board look a bit sceptical about him making the step up and fill Long's boots.

| The thing that i have always liked about Long is the way that he doesnt seem to get it into his head what he is going to do before he gets the ball he just plays what he see's and pretty much always takes the right option.
I'm personally sick of seeing us put a wedge on out wide only for Horne or Thorman to pick the wrong pass or not take the line on themselves due to the fact they have already decided what they are going to do IMO.
