It's OK getting rid of these, but have to replace them.
Some can be replaced internally like Bowden and JJ, but others need more experienced replacements.
Reynolds and Gale have been replaced, think Walker or Smith will replace Shaul.
That leaves us needing to replace Mau and maybe Griffin and that's without potentially any non fed places.

| There’s nothing left to say - next season will
not be any better - in fact likely worse as BHs run to being sacked can only mean it gets worse
I’m really beginning to feel AP doesn’t know how to manage Coaches,
or even recruit them

Worryingly his record at City with coaches was mixed. Taylor and Brown undoubted successes but that was mixed in with sacking Little harshly and hiring Molby, Parkinson and Dowie. Impossible for any owner to get every hire right but theres more misses than successes.

It's his own money at FC which makes the decisions very different. Motivation is different. He has patience as the owner.
In soccer he was forced to make success happen and quick.
Name one coaching decision at FC he got right and PLEASE do not say Radford.
AP has been a terrible CEO but a very generous owner. I love him for his dedication to FC. The Haslams at Cleveland Browns are the same. Beautiful people but can't hire the Head Coach, or manage them.

| Can't seem to get Hodgsons post match interview to work, but I;ve read on social media that he called out Wynne absolutely awful if he did and didn't name any other players, he is a 21 one year old kid, Ok he had a poor game, but not many didn't and a lot more senior players on a lot more money had just a bad a game, not fair to pick on one player

He did unfortunately and it was poor. I think the point he was trying to make was that players were jumping out of the line and trying to fix a problem that wasn't there, but to single put just Wynne was poor.

We are heading for a massive financial hit if he is still in charge for next season which I'm sure he will be given Pearson seems to have blind faith in him.

| We've asked the same question about our last 3 or 4(?) coaches. It does beg the question is the coach the problem or the core of players who have been here all that time?
Although I think only Houghton and Taylor are left from that group now which does make the continuing same problems all the more baffling.
Maybe its both. Not sure anyone has the answers.

| Is it also a lack of backroom coaches that's the problem rather than just blaming the head coach? When you compare us to Wigan, saints, Leeds etc, they seem to have far more backroom staff, assistants, physios, conditioners etc whereas I've felt we always seem to do it on the cheap with a minimal number of staff so probably over stretching our coaching staff...isn't that why Watson rejected us? As Pearson wouldn't let him being in his staff?

We have one benefactor, he’s been superb, those other clubs are have numerous cash sources presumably.

| It may be the wrong thread to place this post but I genuinely believe that the hierarchy at the club is unbalanced and to be honest short staffed.
For me, Wigan are a great template of how to manage the club on the pitch. Head coach (Peets), a genuine assistant (Briers) and a head of rugby (Wane). All three bring different and positive attributes to the table. It has produced silverware already and I think they could on their day edge Saints come end of the season.
Now lets compare that to what Hull have, Hodgson, I don't doubt his knowledge and appreciate his commitment to the cause, but its his first dig as a Head Coach at a club he really doesn't know. At least Peets for Wigan knew the club inside out from the minute he took the roll. The there is Purtell. I struggle to think what he actually could offer, he seems more like a trainer then an assistant coach. Doesn't seem to have any real authority over anything to do with the club. At least with Briers he has the charisma and his reputation from his playing days to aspire the players. You could argue that Ellis could do the same for us, but again, it doesn't seem to have had much impact.
The biggest point of these is Head of Rugby, well, that's the point, we don't have one. We have an inexperienced head coach in probably one of the toughest jobs in the league and he has nobody to turn to. The closest thing we have to one is our CEO James Clark. I again struggle to see what he could bring to the table when it comes to coaching or anything to do with on field issues.
The Club is absolutely desperate for a change up in the hierarchy of the club, a Head of Rugby with experience of the game and one who isn't afraid to help in making tough choices. The obvious option is Tony Smith and it isn't one id say no to. If Pearson is serious in sticking with Hodgson's process then he has to give him some support in the background. There must be something there for AP to still seem to back Brett, so go out there and make sure it works or the club could find itself in serious trouble.

| Good coaches don’t always have to have their “own” players to have an affect. Agar always used that excuse here.
Wigan and Saints don’t have a massive turnover of players every time someone new takes over.
Macguire only added Deacon to a Wigan squad, that then went on to win a Grand Final.

He said everyone to blame but certainly wasn't to kind about the players. Good read again from Dan. My main gripe with Hodgson he knows the players who are letting the team and supporters down. Just drop them and say why. I know we have injuries but it's the same players. Lane. Houghton. Taylor. Gale. You can add more but there the main culprits IMO. The body language of those is blooming awful
