| Have to say I thought it was a rather curious game, a real curates egg. Hugely entertaining in parts (who doesn't love to see their team score long distance tries) we were also incredibly sloppy at times. What is it with us fielding kick-offs. This included a five minute spell in the second half which bordered on the shambolic.
The decision to kick the penalty at 28-10 left the south stand bemused at the very least, quickly followed by Holdsworth's botched drop goal attempt which had no logic to it. I also thought we were off the pace at the start with Widnes dictating possession and momentum (although this may have been a reaction to last week's intensity).
Counterbalancing all this though was the fact that when we clicked into gear we looked good, with our attack showing a sharpness and fluidity that has been sadly absent for the bulk of this season. Once Danny Houghton put that magnificient 40/20 in, Widnes threw the towel in and looked as if they were desperately looking for full time. To be fair to us though, we took full advantage of Widnes' tardiness and rammed the advantage to its fullest turning a comfortable win into a damn good thrashing, which is something we rarely do.
Scoring a hatfull of points doesn't do any harm to confidence (to players, coaches and fans) and can have a knock on effect in the coming weeks, even if they're racked up against a beaten dispirited side. If we can carry this form forward to next Sunday, and cut out some of the sloppy errors, then I would be confident of gaining some real momentum through August as we head towards the momentous end to the month.

| How many of the tries do people think the Super League Show will show? I'm going for 9 of ours, both for Widnes.

| The goal kick when 18 up was obvious and a good call. Widnes collapsed after that knowing they needed 4 tries. DJ's drop goal was a bit bizarre.

I said the same at the time. It was obviously a ploy to stretch the gap to 4 scores and give the boys a short breather. It worked a treat.

Did anyone else in the West stand see Holdsworth and Radford having a animated conversation on the touch line?

I think Radford was telling him to come off and Holdsworth didn't want to.
He came off after the next try.

| I thought the big difference in this performance was after the first 10 or 15 minutes the dominance of our forwards and in particular Lynch. Best performance from him , cup excluded , for some time. Carried the ball aggressively and often. His defence was excellent and he played a lot of minutes as well. All on the back of a really tough game against the Wire and a short turnaround. If the forwards can get on top we've got a bit of pace and craft in the backs that can exploit it.
