briscoe is good but not worth taking up ample space on salary cap

Briscoe, pound for pound is the best player at our club and the best player we've produced in a long time. He's a regular international and can do things I haven't seen many wingers be capable of.
He does, however, have flaws in his game that will be massively exposed in the NRL, and I personally think he'll struggle if he does go.
Either way, I'm sure he's worth every penny of what the club are offering and I doubt the club would offer him an amount that would be to the detriment of the squad as a whole.

i don't doubt the guys ability to play, what i doubt is that we are offering him a "reported" bigger contract than any NRL team. that worries me, especially seeing as their salary cap is significantly larger than the SL.

They may have a significantly larger SC, but that doesn't mean they'll put the same value on Briscoe as we do. Remember they'll have plenty of proven NRL players expecting contract upgrades now there's so much cash available.

If Briscoe is the best player at FC it shows how poor some of the others are. He's a good player agreed, but we miss Manu more than we'd ever miss Bridcoe.

Briscoe is an international winger, and the best English one there is. If the others could reach his level in their respected positions we'd have one hell of a team.
We haven't missed Manu half as much as some were claiming we would.

Tom is an exceptional player. He can create things out of nothing, as shown by his try vs leeds last season. yes his form atm isn't his best but you cant blame him for that. He's not seen much ball as of late and everytime he does, teams double up on him.

I hope he stays

Ryan Hall is better than Briscoe as is Josh Charnley, they both defend better are more solid under the high ball and are a stronger finishers. Having said that he's still a v.good winger and one you'll miss if he leaves.
Lineham has potential but time and again we see English players not reach there potential or take a step back. Will be interesting to see how he develops but if he carries on he'll go well.

Hall & Charnley? You're having a laugh. Neither of them can do the things Briscoe can do. I'll excuse your point though, as you're a Rovers fan.

Josh Charnley is NOT better than Briscoe! JC could only dream of the things that Briscoe is capable of.
JC is a fantastic finisher but plays in a fantastic Wigan team, and to say that Briscoe isn't as good in defence is laughable. Charnley would never be able to pull of some of the tackles that Briscoe has done over the years.

Hall is strong, fast, great in the in the air and an unbelieveable finisher but still couldn't do things that Briscoe can ie break through a three man tackle and then a four man tackle straight after. Just like he did last season against Leeds.

Hall and Briscoe are ahead of any other English winger there is followed by Charnley.

I don't think Charnley is better, his defence is average and most of his 'finishes' are falling over the line after a walk in. He's a good, big strong player but not better than Briscoe IMO

Hall is a very good winger but Charnley is nowhere near has good as Briscoe. Charnley benefits massively from playing for Wigan, he is however a good finisher.
