and I think I am safe in saying your opinion really doesn't matter as to what a "fan" is.

To be fair I will probably go to some of the events, because they are just that - events. I do not have a problem with any player being awarded a testimonial. If I don't like something I won't go, simple really.

Twitter - @MaddyHFC:

Quote: fcandy "Has he really served us well? If you mean on the field, I feel he has been average at best. He has been professional yes, but you expect that from every player. Does not deserve a testimonial IMO.'"

I think he has performed well for us, often doing the hard work. He was never going to be the most popular player due to the way he left the first time around but he's been a good signing imo.

He has given a lot to rugby (and been well paid admittedly) but has also done a lot in the community of Hull through his coaching.

THANK YOU Mr. PEARSON, FOR RIDDING US OF FCKWIT FUBAR, CEO TOOL AND THE STINKING UNCLE KATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY DON'T THE DOBBINS PLAY IN GREEN SHIRT, GREEN SHORTS AND GREEN SOCKS IN ORDER TO EXPRESS THEIR INFINITE ENVY OF EVERYTHING BLACK AND WHITE??:icons42da_files/5424-2890lipst1ck_d0rk-msnicons.jpg

He's been consistently average since he's been here and the idea of a testimonial for six seasons of being very well paid for what he does, is just taking the pi$$.

Obviously an indivividual's decision but he won't get a penny from me.

People keep saying 'paid well' but you have to remember it is a short career, so players will want to earn as much as possible to help them once they are retired and need to get a 'proper' job like the rest of us. I don't have any problem with players making a bob or 2 to help them once they retire. Anyone and everyone on this forum would do the same if they could, but we can all stay in our jobs for much longer.

10 years on an average of £50k, that is the same as 30 years on £16.5K, which is above the average wage in Hull.

10 years long service at Smith & Nephew, you get a tie.......................

Retired from playing pro RL yes, it doesn't mean they can't go on and earn a day wage doing something else. The opportunites that are open to SL pros in terms of education & further training these days are far greater than ever.
At least back in the day players could/would go back to their 'full time' jobs.

Whilst I wouldn't begrudge Lee a testimonial (after all why shouldn't he under the present rules) the thing I find really offensive are the 'testimonials' for soccer players at the top end..sickening Ryan Giggs for example (& I've no beef with any player it was the first name I thought of) got a £1M from his testimonial match alone !!

Your one-stop resource to [url=http://www.cararena.co.uk:wd7jfnof]SELL A CAR[/url:wd7jfnof]!:

Surprised at the attitude towards Radford on here.

There are a lot of parallels with Stanley Gene's testimonial at Rovers, which was extremely well-supported by their fans!

Why the difference?

Quote: wefewee! "I can't believe some people are saying they won't support this testimonial! What a joke some of you 'fans' are!

Lee developed here as a youngster, bettered himself by playing for a successful Bradford side, and then came back to Hull and helped us reach the grand final and CC final, becoming captain along the way.

This testimonial is not for time at a club, it is for services to rugby league. He has played over 300 games, played in plenty of finals and played for England.

Does this not deserve a testimonial? How many people would have denied Stanley Gene or Paul Sculthorpe their testimonials, neither spent 10 years straight at a club if I remember correctly, both received them for services to the game.'"
