Prescott would be a decent signing a good/better replacement for Cusack, I would keep Dowes for a year also.

Add a young NRL halfback on a short term deal and we will have a decent team IMO.

He looked okay in the play offs with very very good players around him. Its just a massive difference between so close to signing Fielden then we sign him.

He looked good when he was breaking tackles and offloading the ball, with no help from others to do it! He put in some great runs against Leeds, no matter who was around him.

I agree, Fielden would have been a good signing on his recent form and his experience, but PP has also been playing well and is a lot younger!

Maybe its me been negative but you see the other clubs signings and our rumoured signings then we get linked with PP. He may turn out to be a top player but it doesnt fill me with confidence for the coming season.

id still like to know if hull have a specific halfback target or are we still just looking at a few.theres conflicting messages coming from the club,are we looking at experienced cover like rovelli for example or are we after a young half back.

I agree he had very very good players around him mate but imo he has shown he is a good player in his own right.. he would have a decent team around him, and I think he would improve us. Personally hope he signs..

More chance of signing John Prescott (Lord)

On the wigan site, they've just added a piece about their awards evening (basically Pat Richards got everything), and at the bottom of rlthe articlerlthere's a bit officially saying goodbye to the players that will be leaving Wigan. Prescott is not included in this.

Assuming we re-sign dowes (as I think the prescott rumour is BS), then other than ogre, the other 3 props are likely to be 3 of the lowest paid players in our squad. For me, we are spending too little of the cap on the props and far too much on the back row (I reckon fitz, tickle and manu are 3 of our bigger earners). Yet again there looks an imbalance to the squad
