Ah, I should have guessed.
Well 8th should be an acheivement as it means the comp is getting stronger and is some ways that's true this season. However whilst no team has a devine right to finish in the top 8 I do think that with our squad it should not even be in doubt. We should be battling it out for the top 4.

| Schofield in the Star saying Salford should have gone for a British coach and how unfair it is that British coaches can't get the head coach roles in SL. Perhaps he should examine the records of British elite coaches like Cullen, McNamara, Agar, McDermott etc for reasons why this is the case.

Maybe if Schofield wasn't so busy getting drunk and kicking shades out of his partner he might have a credible job with RL?

| why should salford have to appoint an english coach?, plenty of english coahes have been given oppitunitys but havent been good enough at the end of the day id rather have 14 aussie coaches if it meant our players getting better coaching and imporving as players take huddersfield for example with brown in charge how much have the likes of robinson, brown, griffin, crabtree, cudjoe and the list goes on all these have improved and are either internationals now or just on the fringes thats surley good for the english game.

I agree to some extent but where we differ is .. Brown hasn't made a whole raft of players into international players. All the ones you mention are not truly international class. They are the best of a very poor bunch. If you want proof look at Queensland's spine, Slater, Thurston, Lockyer, Smith and then look at England's against the Exiles. Tomkins possibly close but Sinfield, Myler and Robinson! Their replacements include Roby and Brough. No.
What Brown has done is devise a game plan which his team of misfits (most been cast off by others) have bought into. That game plan when not executed makes them look ordinary hence defeats to teams like Wakey.
Now if we had a coach with a game plan that the team bought into I suspect we would have another 10 points this season. The fact is despite the talk from the dressing room I don't believe we have a team that buys into Agar's plans. What does work in Agar's favour is that the BOD believe in him and will seemingly stick by him forever and a day.
As for other coaches all the top teams at the moment have Aussie coaches in a similar mold to Brown. Execute the game plan and we will do well. Where Brown has failed so far is that he does not have that little special ingredient that makes his team comp winners.
