If the new club's offer matches his current contract then I would assume it costs Hull nothing
If the new clubs offer is less than Obsts current deal then he will seek compensation, like anyone would. But maybe Hull could say actually you can stay and rot in the reserves unless you except the loss in wages. Who knows??? but it is possible that he could leave without Hull paying [iANYTHING[/i.

also there is the side of the argument that says if he decides to stay and fight for a place the lad has never let us down has he and to be honest at times has led us around quite well tbh

I guess it would depend on who the other club are, and what his personal plans are. I don’t know about his family life, but there may be expenses and disruptions in having to move again or travel further. He may have plans to go home after this next season and not want to go to another SL club.

He may get a chance at some silverware if he stays, or at least he may have a better chance than at another club.

Obst has to consider what he wants to do after this next season.
If he wants to get another contract after this next season, he may need to put himself in the window, and may stand a better chance at another club who would give him more game time.
