| He's 24 not 17! He runs hard and works all game and he's got balls in the way he keeps coming back for more BUT he really ought to have learned the basics of positional play and needs to cut out his high profile clangers. I think him learning in the first team is a luxury we can't afford at the moment.

Why? What are we going to actually achieve this season?

He is a far better player than Lynn imo. I reckon Whiting may get put on the wing. Or if Gleeson comes then Turner might go there.
Harsh on Sharp though, okay he has made the odd error but I think he has done well.

10603.jpg Is it true that Richard Agar's favorite movie of all time is Groundhog Day or does he just generally like the same boring s**t day after day, season after season?:10603.jpg |

| Too much manby pamby rubbish being thrown around on this thread for my liking.
The fact is Sharp has been shocking far too often this year. You can argue all you like about who should or shouldnt have dealt with that kick last night, but the fact remains that Sharp was in a position to diffuse the situation and fluffed it horribly.
He made a great run from acting half last night, but then had a brain freeze moment 20 seconds later and decided to put in the most terrible kick on the 3rd tackle. Unfortunately, his brain freeze moments occur far too often.
I can see that he is putting in sufficient effort, but the cold hard facts are that at this moment in time he is not good enough and teams will continue to exploit his weaknesses.
If some fans choose to boo, then that's their business, after all players are only too happy to accept the cheers when things are going well so should be prepared for a bumpy road when they are under performing. However, what some of the "perfect fans" on here seem to forget is that the boo birds don't come out willy nilly and boo every knock on or missed tackle, they come out when players make continued mistakes for a prolonged period of time and at the moment, Sharp falls into that bracket.

Well summed up that.
I think the fact that the opposition coaches have chosen to target him relentlessly speaks volumes.
That said, I do like the kid and hope he improves and does well for us. He needs to focus more in defense.

| I think some time in the 20s might benefit him in terms of confidence. He's made a couple of glaring errors in the last 2 weeks and is sometimes, if not always, at fault positionally. Still a young lad maybe just a few weeks out of the first team pressure cooker might help him. He has a lot of positives to his game as well as the headline negatives.

No-one is claiming to be a "perfect fan" just because they find booing individual players (or ironic cheers when they are subbed) wrong.
People are entitled to do it, I just think it makes them look idiots.

I was there, the ball should never have reached him.
The players in field are to blame, not Sharp.

Although I agree that the ball should not have got to Sharp, the fact remains that he failed to deal with the loose ball, so yes he is to blame imo.

| i would not want sharp dropped to bring lynn in, he looks even more flimsy in defence, i honestly think sharp will get better, his effort is their for all to see, i just hope the few who are gobbing off at the games does'nt snowball, that would make it almost impossible for him to improve, it would just pile even more pressure on the kid.

| Sharp will learn and come back strong.
If we sign Gleeson that will benefit Sharp.

Could it not be argued that opposition coaches are aiming at Sharps wing, as on the other wing we have possibly the best English Winger at the moment and a genuine threat, hence they would want to avoid that sied of the pitch??
Personally I think many are being too harsh on Sharp. Again, I am only going to use Yeaman as an example as I am not having a go at the guy, but last night, He actually cost us from opening the scoring in the very first set of the game. He could and should have drawn the Bradford full back before passing to Briscoe, instead he treated the ball like a hot potato and got rid far too quickly.
Overall Sharps contribution has been ok without pulling up any trees. That being said I feel he has done far better then Lyne did when he was picked.

You make very valid points there.
You are right about that Yeaman incident as well. In fact, I think we were guilty of passing too early a few times and not drawing the man first. Maybe slight over exuberance.
I hope that Sharp comes good I really do, but I genuinely think that he is costing us more than he is giving us at the moment. I am certainly not one to boo or cheers when he is subbed.
