agree its a big ask but wing is a position warrington could have attacked via briers kicks - your errors are more likely to be high profile out there. kent could have had a short spell in the middle taking it up and giving the forwards a break, who knows he may have risen to the occasion. but i kind of agree, it was a desperate situation which hopefully won't happen again

| Quote: spegs "We were in exactly the same position at this time last year. The performances against Crusaders, Salford and Hull KR do not reflect the ability we have on the pitch. We celebrated the derby win like we had just beaten the 1982 Aussie tourists. We have some very good individuals out on the park who have pedigree at the top level of this sport.
Our coach is simply out of his depth at this level. Both Hudds and Wire have made massive strides that can be attributed to a change of coaching staff.'"
Derbies are never highly skilled affairs. Do you think Hudd's talent was reflected today when they were hammered? Our Wire's talent against a seriously understrength Hull side? Surely it must have been as a coach. We matched Wire (who have a much better coach than us btw) for most of the match despite coming out of a much harder game and having large (important) parts of our team missing.
BTW this time last year we were 8th coming off a derby loss in the middle of a 4 match losing streak. You say this coaching staff is out of it's depth yet we have reached 2 CC finals and a GF in recent years with pretty much the same staff.

| Why didn't we go with:
1. Tansey
2. Whiting
3. Hall
4. Yeaman
5. Lyne
6. Turner
7. Long
8. Cusack
9. Berrigan
10. O'Meley
11. Manu
12. Burnett
13. Washbrook
14. Houghton
15. Moa
16. Dowes
17. Radford
?
That way, everyone (Whiting aside, although he's more than able on the wing) is playing in their correct positions. We don't have a bench spot wasted. We don't have to use our props in the back-row. The rotation isn't messed up from the start.
If the reason for not going with that team is that Lyne isn't ready, why is he anywhere near the squad at all? If he's good enough to come off the bench if required, he's good enough to start. Leaving him sat there will have done his confidence no better than letting a couple of tries in would. And that's if we're assuming he's going to fail without even giving him a chance.

All I was saying was Manu would be more than capable of filling in at centre (which he has on a number of occasions) should an injury have occured.

| I don't think Agar did much wrong today. Injuries dictated we were going to struggle with rotation but i thought it was a pretty close game for the majority of it and if we had a couple of decisions going our way it could have ended differently.

| The only change I'd of made would of been Kent for Lyne, even if he only managed 10 minutes it's 10 minutes rest for someone. But overall was very pleased with Agars selection and his rotation of the bench, maybe Moa could of managed more minutes though.

His first stint was very short and he looked knackered after. However, he impressed me in his second effort. O'Meley racked up a lot of minutes today. He just gets better.

| I've slated Agar pretty much non stop since he became coach, but he can't be blamed for today.
the squad was down to its bare bones through injury, and at least he had the players fired up for a battle today

Yep, said exactly this on another thread. Apart from that, was pretty pleased.

| One closing post on this from me. I don't understand what people expect from this season? We're more than a third through the season and are in fifth position, lacking some consistency but showing some really impressive performances along the way. You don't go from 12th to champions in one year... Rome wasn't built in a year and all that. The last 2 seasons have been really dissapointing for everyone, Agar included. People say about injuries not making that much difference... Look at Leeds, despite having probably the best team in the league a few injuries and they're 9th in the table, injuries really do affect a team.
Our team this season is much better than last season, Agar has put together an exciting team and has shown he is very good in the transfer market - both outgoings and ingoings. We're going to have blips along the way, everytime does. Losing at Celtic and Salford is dissapointing but everytime has bad matches look at Huddersfield today. We've beat 3 of last years top 4 including a very impressive performance away to St Helens. We don't have a good enough back division to make the top 2 or the grand final however with a bit of luck might make the top 4, what we have shown in the opening third of the season is that we have a team who will be very difficult to beat and could make a big impact in the CC and the PO's.
We have Agar for the next 2 years whether we like it or not, we've improved this year and I have every confidence we'll do the same again next year. What makes me laugh is when O'Meley, Fitz and Long were signing everyone was saying "These are top players, they are experienced and won't stand for any crap from Agar, if he's a bad coach they'll let it be known". Now we get 'Oh he's telling them what to say'. These players and other senior players will have being asked before the board offered Agar the job for another two years.. these players like him but apparently just because they like him their opinion doesn't matter anymore in the eyes of some fans.
It just seems most people are hell bent on Agar not succeeding at our club and would rather see us lose week in week out than Agar have us win. Today we have come off an away Derby win highly motivated against the team 2nd in the league who were at full strength and gave them a run for their money, 1 year ago we had just come off a very poor away performance against St Helens after a Derby loss at home. There's improvement for you.

Then Agar is a clown for picking dead people on the bench.
So putting Lyne againt Hicks or the ginger who doesnt know what a touchline is would be worse then putting a 18 yo forward against Mozza, Carvell, Solomonoa and Anderson x2?
