| Quote: Raggytash "I'm saying we're nowhere near a top two side and in my opinion, Horne is equally as good/bad as 90% of our squad. To single him out is not only grossly unfair but bordering on the ridiculous when there's people playing alongside him clearly putting in much less effort and performing much worse. I'll agree to get rid if we're getting rid of the rest of the 90% but I don't see any struggling expansion teams we can swallow at the moment!'"
Horne is not as good as 90% of our squad.
By your reckonning 90% of our squad of 27, he is better then all but 3 of our squad?
Craig Hall, Calderwood, Yeaman, Raynor, Tom Briscoe, Richard Horne, Whiting are all much better players and that's just our backs.

Horne gets turned a lot in the centre and cost us 2 v cas.....he isnt a centre and neither is whiting now but he is a damn sight better than Horne.
Our only attacking centre is being ruined by Playing at F/B.'"
A point you and the coaches agree on obviously hence why we've signed a fullback.

I think you'll find I said EQUALLY AS GOOD/BAD as 90% of the squad and on current form he is certainly no worse than the players you have just mentioned.

| I would sign a world class coach and let him decide who to keep - as our opinions on who are good playerws seem to change week on week - example mr thorman was was almost given hero status by some posters on here, yet this same mr thorman could not command a half back position from our director of rugby our what ever he is, and the new coachat huddesfield quickly replaced him with a quality fullback - I just think it is jobs for the boys

| Quote: Diesel24 "Motu - Get rid
Calderwood - Should never of signed him, Get rid
Craig Hall - as a centre Time spent in reserves to try and iron out weaknessesand bulk him up. If to no avail get shot.
G Horne - last couple of seasons played well but not the type of player we require to go places. Get Rid
Thorman - Should never of bought him, get rid
King - had too many chances over the years shows glimpses here and ther but time to go. Get rid
Cusack - Dowes esque, good servant no new deal though. Get rid
Radford - time to part company. Get Rid
Tommy Lee - Get rid
Reardon - Not sure yet, we'll have to see what he produces, If and it's a big if R. Horne get's moved to full back then get rid or if he goes ok, keep as a back up squad player.
Raynor - Keep
Tom Briscoe - 100% keeper
R Horne - Had his natural talents coached out of him, would be great at full back or i'd also maybe like to see him as a 13 if Washy went, room to roam around and good hands he'd be more suited to either of those positions as opposed to in the halves.
Dowes - solid grafter, good defence, safe hands every team needs settler props he's one of ours. Keep
Berro - World class player, lost his way a bit. Get some top players around him, get some discipline instilled into the team and some leaders and he'll be back to his best. Defo Keep
Thacks - 1yr contractm, give him some stern words. Keep
Maloney - Liked this lad at Dewsbury, liked his efforts at Saints, seems to have the correct attitude we need in the team. Keep
Moa - Big future in the game and please let it be with us. Improved fitness and he'll be a world beater rugged tough prop every team needs. 3 yr deal defo keep.
Tickle - Good grafter, good kicker, think he should be spelled though as opposed to playing 80. Keep
Burnett - keep
Manu - On his day simply one of the most powerful 2nd rowers in the game needs to be more consitent. Keep
Washbrook - Just not sure about Washy, showed promising signs early in career seems to be a bit laboured at times, extended run at 13 could see him back to best, possibly 1 to moniter on short contracts.
Houghton - Definate keeper, gonna be awesome when full developed, let's just hope he doesn't get his talents coached out of him.
Whiting - Squad player and a top one too. Keep.'"
Are you one of the idiots that calls him balsawood?
I guess you don't see how much he does off the ball and in defence. Always helping out the forwards too.

| I'd definately start by signing 2 TOP CLASS HALF BACKS AND A RIGHT CENTRE, PROP AND A SECOND ROWER (if Lauaki and Croker dont get here WILKIN WILL DO) first, THEN cull some of the players who ain't up to standard, living on past reputations, out of contact or injury prone. IMO Thorman, Radford, King, Cusack, Tony (though i hope he can prove his fitness and stay), Thackarey and Tickle (hope these two find the spark again though).

| Its ok saying I'd sign this and that, but those types of players have to become AVAILABLE before we can make a move.

You sign two world class half backs? Easy as that is it?
We didn't even really need to sign Crocker tbh seeing as we have 47 second rowers at the club already, why would Wilkin leave arguably the best team in the country for an average Hull side. Plus he's a rovers fan.

who said it would be easy? taking easy options is why we're in the we're in !!
As a club we have to try and get 2 top class half backs. You dont get them if you dont approach teams and give them an offer they cant refuse !!!
As for Wilkin its a long shot but again if you dont make good enough offers you dont get.
For a team of our stature we should be able to tempt the best players and not look at also rans, and the ones other teams dont want
we should look to get best players and leave the others with whats left

Do they?
You can approach a team about one of their players, that is ok. Appraoching the player is not (though i reckon this is ignored by ceratin teams. think of our recent past with one of our players jumping ship)
For the right price ANYONE is available

You can approach but mid season, get a hold of anyone whose a great player simply aint gonna happen without a big sum of money behind it.

Salaray cap, quota and transfer funds have also got to come into contention.
