I'm sick of posting the exact same thing, Paul.
Berrigan's salary cap goes towards making a top-class, big name, marquee signing half-back making machine.

| If Berrigan and Washbrook/Burnett go, I'd like 2 out of Luke Gale, Michael Witt and Ben Sammut, although I doubt any of the three are in our plans.

Always amuses me when people try to stifle discussion like this, it's like when Agar's head is being called for and someone comes out with 'there's nobody who could do better available'. It can't be known for certain that there isn't anyone available any more than it can be known that there is. What we do know is that the space saved on the cap from Berrigan leaving vastly increases the scope of what might be available to us and that the club are unlikely to allow Berrigan to leave unless they feel they can strengthen the squad as a result.
Hence the speculation and discussion.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

Will be interesting to see who we sign now, both us and Bradford are looking for half back cover.

But it does open up the field a little more with not being so restricted of trying to find someone with little room left on the cap, so in that sense maybe it does make some players available to us that where not before due to the cap situation?

Not trying to 'stifle' anything, nothing would please me more then for the club to sign a half, or any player, that is quality and fits into our team's needs. We will have more space on the cap if Berro leaves, but the fact still remains that there are limited halves available who are of SL standard.

True enough, it does open our scope in terms of affording players and if we can turn player's interest with the larger cap space then brilliant. But, as I say, there are still a limited amount of halves available at this stage of the campaign.

Of course it does , players agents will be aware that not only are we looking for half back cover but we can probably now afford enough to get one of their clients a better deal and some commission for themselves. There's no certainty but it's always the case that when one player moves it creates a knock on effect. Who knows who's unhappy , wanting more money , fallen out with their coach etc.

so why were you 'sick of' pointing out that there wasn't a host of halfbacks available if you weren't trying to stifle discussion about who we might sign? Given our squad weaknesses and the Berro situation that's exactly the kind of thing you'd expect to see on a transfer rumours thread

| Whats the odds on Berro leaving and we sign someone from NL and Rule and Agar tell us he'll be the next big thing ?
When you let a player of Berros calibre you have to replace with the same which imo has no chance.

Because I get the impression that some people think there is a massive resource of halves somewhere that are good enough to do the job for us, when in reality, there isn't that many at all who are available at all.
