The exact same 'give him a chance', 'young English coach', 'players respect him' twaddle has already started on Twitter. It's like viewing the Sharp/Agar transition through a time warp. Do people never learn?

| Quote: Mrs Barista "Agreed, but I think Gentle was gone after the Saints game. AP's had some average advice on recruitment from McRae (and Howes), I hope he's taken external counsel on our new coach.
The reality is the first quarter on Thursday will have tipped some wavering pass renewers over the edge, who wants to pay £200+ for another year of that? AP knows visible change is needed. Whether this is the right replacement, I'm unsure.'"
If we got morgan we'd just replace howes with riolo
Not the best coach in the world but noble is a cut above any of the names touted here and was desperate to come when we appointed gentle. If we'd gone for noble we'd be in a better position now than we are IMO but I still think powell would have been a smarter chocie

To be clear, I'm ambivalent at best about Gentle going. Lovely bloke but increasingly doubtful he could turn things around, for whatever reason. But Radford? Deary me.
Pearson needs to bear in mind what happened the last time we replaced an Australian called Peter with his young assistant...

Apparently not. Radford has only two years of experience as an assistant, and that in a set up that is now deemed to have failed. Appointing him to the top job seems, at best, ill-advised and at worst suicidal.

| So, Here we go again with employing yet another unproven assistant.
We should employ an experienced Director of Coaching, to instill team unity, and to guide the incumbents to take over.
Terrible appointment, IMO (if it happens)

Maybe someone need to remind AP that there's relegation next season. Now is not the time to be rolling the dice.

I don't know, maybe getting relagated would be good for us.
Like everyone that joins, I'll give Radford a fair crack of the whip before judging. But then I'm an eternal optimist.

| if gentle is to go were not going to see any benefits within the next 5-10 years with the new club hull scheme so we will be in the same state this time next year so whoever takes the coaching job is going to have there reputation dented i wouldnt even apply if i was a coach were turning into chelsea!!!

I don't think relegation is likely to be an issue, at least I hope not. The worry is that we could easily slip to 8th or worse and people will start to lose interest for good.

| Really undecided on this.
I like Gentle and he has definitely improved us in some areas, as well as getting us to one of two major finals in his second year. However, his main aim was to have us playing more consistently and in that he hasn't succeeded.
I do not think Radders is a good choice. The culture at our club is not a winning one, like at Leeds or Wigan for example, and I don't think an assistant can change this. We need a proven coach, with lots of experience. The only thing assistants have proven with us is that they are not the answer. I wish Radders all the best, but I aren't expecting a lot. I hope I'm wrong.

| On what basis would Radford be getting the job? What's on his CV? He's from Hull and the players would play well or he would kick there heads in? I understand the local talent idea and I like it but it needs a hugely experienced proven coach to put the foundations in place first. Radfords time may well come but it's not now, the job is too big.

| We made a mistake when Agar went in that we didn't "out" the whole coaching set up. We needed an experienced first grade coach or perhaps even Gentle but with his own coaching team coming in from the outside. There's clearly a culture problem so you have to strip out everyone associated with it in one go. Now we're potentially doing the same again with some of the original pre Gentle team being involved , eg , Last. If we're going to make a change then surely it's got to be a total change and it should be to a bigger and experienced management group to make sure that the head coaches ethos is enforced everywhere and not undermined at any level.

| Pearson`s lack of RL knowledge is now starting to show.
If he appoints Radford this will be confirmed .
