Rugby league needs to learn a lesson that I have alluded to before on here
Bigger crowds paying less than smaller crowds paying more is definitely not basic economics!

| This is partly why we don't get big sponsors in our sport, a large % of the demographic is not able to spend money, certainly ticket prices have being a massive issue in devalueing of the sport of recent times..offering ridiculously reduced priced tickets for internationals/CC etc and then when the prices aren't reduced fans don't buy or complain tickets aren't cheap enough/overpriced.
As for Warrington tonight, the West stand was £20 for adults, the South Stand was £22.50, £30 in the East stand and only the seats in the best stand were £40 or more. You could also buy a 3 match ticket for £60..some peole are just tight as s and want entertaining for nothing!

I'm sure some people are tight but some of us live somewhere called the north where a lot of us haven't got a lot of disposable income and would prefer to buy food than a rugby ticket... Unless I can eat it...

| They've got to make their money back from somewhere after paying for the Aussie team to come over. Was a great advert for the comp last night. Just hope the other two games are equally as good.

Sorry but that statement is just laughable...tickets for prestige rugby matches have come down in price relative to earnings and if it's a decision between buying a £20/£30 ticket and putting food on the table at home then you're unlikely to be able to afford go to rugby full stop. I don't see many fans (in the North if you like) having a problem with spending £20/30/£40 a week on cigarettes alone never mind booze but crack on with your 'Northern' stereotyping. If you hadn't noticed it's a damn sight more expensive to live in the 'South' than it is in the North so for many disposable income is actually more in the North
My point was that fans will often complain tickets are too expensive, it was mentioned upthread that it was £40 to watch Warrington/SGI, almost as if that was the only ticket price option when clearly it wasn't.
Many RL fans want owt for nowt, only deciding to buy if tickets go below a certain threshold, that's a fact.
£13 would get you a seat at Wembley in 1985, 30 years later and you can get a seat in the modern version for not much more, tickets ARE cheaper and yet fans still whinge about how much it costs..as I said, people want entertaining for nowt.

All I was saying was that i know from personal experience that it can be hard to afford to go to rugby all the time. I know a few people that have to pick and choose games cos they can only afford to go to one game a month, me included if i have soon unforseen spends.
I wasn't having a go at your comment i promise i was just saying that i personally understand why people go on about ticket prices so much. I concede though that some people are just looking for a cheap game.
