He's nailed on for Leeds.
His missus is from Leeds, they have a house in wetherby, obvious connections with the rhinos from his previous time there and they need to replace their captain peacock with a similar figure.
I'd love him to sign for hull but see this more as a signal of intent than a realistic option. Keeping everything crossed though!

Yes, probably a good option but we might need to replace Moa and O'Meley as well. A SO and a centre are real priorities for next season though and quality/expensive ones at that. Surely the potential signing of Ellis would leave us with virtually nothing left. |

And probably two or three props. I'd worry about us signing Ellis from a salary cap point of view. If he'll demand as much as people seem to think, it could leave us rather unbalanced. In all honesty, I would be happier with someone like Whitehead - not quite as good, but a lot cheaper and a lot younger. |

I'm leaning more towards that way of thinking if we can get the right sort of players for the positions in which we have greater need, too. |

I hear what people are saying about strengthening other positions but it goes without saying that Ellis would improve us and it's great to hear we are amongst the front runners for his signature.

Exactly. Any world class player should be welcomed in. If Hull want to be back at the top it's the Ellis type players that need to be playing for us and not against us. Leeds must be favourites but it's good to see us in there giving it a shot.

Would the improvement that he would bring, be greater or less than the improvement we would gain, from strengthening our weak areas? |
